Assignment of seniority by Social Security number to new hire pilots

Hmm...wonder whose idea this was? Glad to see it's one of the five important things they agreed on. Now just 15 more minor things still to discuss.

"Firm at the 83-hour divisor..." Lol, great to see the union standing so tough.

I like the "elimination of the me too clause with FA's and dispatchers" they can't agree on much but they agree that they don't want those two groups getting more.......

I can't believe I'm even responding to a comment so mind-blowingly stupid, but here goes:

According to Merriam-Webster, pay is defined as: "something paid for a purpose and especially as a salary or wage"

So if the bonus is not pay, how come the IRS taxes it as pay (salary or wage), how come the union takes dues out of it as pay (salary or wage)?

This April, when you file your taxes, why don't you try telling the IRS the bonus isn't pay, and because it's going to expire, it shouldn't be taxed. Tell us how that works out for you.

Anyone that thinks we should accept anything less than $25.56 per hour across the board (bonus conversion at min guarantee) needs a shrink.

It's a bonus, not pay. It's guaranteed for 4 years from when it started.
(Look at your own Websters definition.)

Then it's gone.

Go get a mortgage on a house and try to count it as pay, mortgage companies get it and that's why it won't be counted.

It needs to be turned into an hourly wage increase, then it will be considered pay.

And the 83 hours is fair, it will give more money than the retention bonus to 85% of our pilots.

Ha, right... That was my thinking. Casual Friday should be next up to debate.

Well well well, we're starting to get more like Delta pilots every day. With them making less it leaves more for us

What's your point? Delta pilots and dispatchers are the only major unionized groups here. If you didn't notice, the company was throwing big raises to the other groups during our latest negotiations to keep the other sheep placated since they knew the focus would be on big money gains for the pilots. Those groups are responsible for their own negotiating, or lack thereof.

Oh, sorry I stepped on your tail. And thanks for making my point with your last sentence.

How is that fair to the other 15%?

Too bad the Union can't negotiate a deal where each pilot currently on the seniority list gets the option to choose between either 1) Salary of $23,000 per year paid out monthly on top of the current wage scale as long as they work at Endeavor, allowing for future negotiated wage increases of course, or 2) an immediate Wage increase based on the 83-hour system.
Those wishing to minimize work don't loose any pay, and those wishing to maximize work get the overall bump. And the Company doesn't have to fund the 75-hour based Wage increase across the board.

It's funny you think you stepped on my tail. You're not that important to be able to do that.

If my last sentence proved your point, are you saying Delta pilots should be responsible for other employee groups' income and benefits?
