I'm sure that's working well at air Wisconsin. When costs get to high they can just go somewhere else

That's true, at some point the gravy train stops. However, Delta doesn't seem like we're there yet.

If I'm assigned a ready reserve shift and end up flying does that shift count forward the max 10 per month?

And there's the difference. Our owners (Delta) need us, Air Whiskey owners don't "need" pilots in the same fashion. They can call it good and take the profits to buy a boat to sail away.

If you were assigned it and then received an assignment while on RR it counts. If you were assigned RR but then pulled off to do an overnight, day trip, etc. it does not. To simplify, if you were sitting at the airport on RR for any length of time it counts

To secure the future of this airline, Delta needs to put in place a solid career progression, whether that be a flow or a staple.

A staple secures the future of your airline? I'd say it kills it because it won't exist after said staple.

As for flow, there's pages upon pages of flow discussion earlier in this thread. I hope it all doesn't get rehashed.

Oh how quickly we forget. Most of pilots who have spent 5 or more years at a regional never planned to be there that long. 9/11 happened, the economy happened, the age 65 rule happened, life happened, a bad day on a Checkride happened, a disgruntled ex-spouse or partner happened, a roadblock when you should have used uber happened, etc.... Some of these are self-inflicted, some not, but something like every one of these is going to happen again at some point, and folks will again find themselves "stuck" at a regional. Hope you and everyone else who wants to can move on, but there are no guarantees.

A staple will never happen. Delta can get 1700 pilots if they want, at mainline. Getting 1700 pilots at a DCI carrier is more useful to them. Some sort of flow/enhanced DGI or whatever is more likely. They need something to make Endeavor attractive and keep people there; Delta is not having any issues getting pilots on their certificate yet.

They have had pilots no show for new hire class, and new hires leave during training...

You can count the number of people leaving on two hands and two feet or less. Hardly a ripple in the massive wave of hiring 3000+ in 3 years.
