I'm assuming that's minimum pay for not reaching minimum hours while on reserve but we advertise 27,000 minimum pay. 1500 X 12 isn't even in the same ball park of 27000. Where does the rest of this minimum pay come that I'm missing? Thanks for any clarification

The tax man (and eventually ALPA thieves) will always stealeth off the top... your take home will be less and just hope the gubment is willing to give some back (ALPA already spent your 2% on nice steaks at Ruth Chris)

Anyone know how the pay negotiations are going?

History says... we are told they have started, the negotiators have all signed a non disclosure agreement and can speak no more, then after everything is signed... we will be told the results... everything else is just rumor.

Like someone else said, it's just two turns. There really isn't anything too it. I can kinda see a newhire getting behind the airplane but if someone is handflying and you're PM its just about prioritizing. There really isn't anything on the checklist that NEEDS to be done right after takeoff unless your're unpressurized or something abnormal.

Exactly, assuming you set the plane up correct in Trumpland, and the plane doesn't break badly on the runway... as PM, turn a heading knob twice while raising the gear... that's all you HAVE to do before anything else outside a radio call or two

Correct. I claim 9 exemptions and get almost the whole thing...around $7k.

Hey you know that 200 from the desert? The moron captain didn't write it up but when yoi spin the knob right, it goes left, and when you go left, it goes left, until you get past about 320, then it dances right and left between 320 and 010. Your partner about then will ask you *** you're doing, and as you explain it to him, that 180 heading is closer to 240 than it is to 180, but don't worry that turn back to 040 will be at 010 because that was where the heading bug ended up at when the FO turned on the autopilot because "thatll get it in the right direction for now, get that qrh out for non eicas messages ill take the radio." Just in time for the "endeavor, say heading", and out of muscle memory he spins it right, only to watch in terror as it goes further left. Kicks off the autopilot and blows the altitude.

Dont worry, youll get that airspeed restriction above 10k. After all you're both flying the airplane by now.

It's a good argument for and against handflying, but a pro argument for asap and tcas ( thats curtosy of management who loves you, no wait, i mean that bully alpa).

Shouldn't be, unless payroll is messing up. Regardless of other deductions, Federal is withheld at a flat 25% unless a bonus is included in regular salary, which ours is not. 75% of $7666 should be $5750.

ETA: Just looked, and my Federal was exactly 25%. Doesn't matter what exemptions I claimed.

Calculate withholding adjustments. If your employer issues separate bonus checks that do not include any regular wages, your employer withholds income tax at a flat rate of 25 percent. This rate is automatic, which means the marital status and number of allowances you normally claim are irrelevant. In this case, write “Exempt” on line 7.

If you can't hand fly a couple of headings without a heading bug and/or an AP, while maintaining a speed restriction... Perhaps you should consider a different career. As a holder of the equivalent of a Masters degree in flying (ATP), you should be able to fly the plane no matter what happens. I mean, what happens if you call for AP on at 600', and it fails to come on? Will you just abandon the departure procedure? Of course not. Have the PM hit the FD button, getting rid of all those distractions, and fly a heading and an airspeed.

I've said this before but I guess it needs to be said again. A lot of us new hires are just as or more experienced than the captains we are flying with. We just decided not to work for pennies, so we flew corporate instead until the money got right (it still isn't there, but it's getting close). It doesn't make us spoiled or ungrateful, we just know what we are worth.

Relax, man. The guy asked a question. Lyon knew the variable the guy wasn't accounting for and corrected it. Simple as that, nothing more needed to be said.

For anyone not currently working here, the bonus check every 4 months ends up at ~4k until tax returns come around.

Also, your comment above about raw data flying - completely agree.
