Did he spend his time drinking or studying? Any aircraft/program that's new should be taken seriously. Do otherwise at your own risk (as seen here.)

But maybe that's the instructor in me talking.

He didn't get wasted every night if that's what your asking. He just wasn't studying as much as he needed too. He took the training to lightly.

It doesn't stand for anything, like TSA, for example.
It's not MESA; it's Mesa.

Graduating Fort Rucker is one thing, making PC (Pilot-in-Command) is another. The prudent question to an Army Aviator is, did he make PC? This will tell you ones potential and probability of success to make it through training.

Got it.
And I have 1,190 hours dual given to European trainee students that immediately go to an airbus or Boeing (300 TT) in the UK while I'm still actually flying a multi engine piston. Hmmmmmm I guess when I FINALLY do get on a "jungle jet" then that all of a sudden means the guy with 300 hours has more "experience" than the rest of all of us in the boat of having 1500+ hours... never mind your (insert) Type statement at X Airline in X seat. Troll it on.

They do. Why? Because they get to fly a 200,000 lbs bird and I bet they are not doing CRP-LBB bs all day long.

Hurts.

Start on memory items and limitations as soon as you get your a/c assignment. Learn your profiles to the point you can recite them forward/backwards and start in the middle.

When practicing callouts and flows, add a second activity to the drill. You fly the same way. Balance a marble in the center of a glass plate while walking around the room while making calls. Get a deck of cards and play solitare while reciting calls and flows. Anything to engage your mind with two tasks at once.
This mantra gets thrown in the mix a lot and while I agree it is right for some, it certainly isn't right for others. It is pretty clear what you need to "know" to get through the course and orals, so if you don't know what I mean, ask around your class.

I for one, struggle in group study as I find it distracting and often leads to tangents. The training is that of a fire hose and if you can focus in on what matters for the training, you will do fine.
