He took it personally. You can't take a forum personally, or you're going off the deep end.

Honestly, folks, I've read his posts and most of yours for a long time now. His have generally been positive while most of yours have been more negative - which tends to be the nature of internet message boards. Honestly, the folks who are the most pleasurable to fly with are those with the more positive outlook, as opposed to those bitter souls who seem to do nothing but complain about how the company has wronged them. It gets old really fast.

Honestly, guys, leave the negative attitude behind when you flow over to AA. Quite a few captains I fly with tell me that they fly with an inordinately high number of flows who are miserable complainers. Trust me. DON'T be those guys when you come over to AA. Personally, I spent more than 22 years on the Eagle side before I came over to AA four years ago, and I lived through two decades of ups and downs over there, but I never let it get to me to the point where I became a miserable person to be around. Life's too short to be angry all the time. Bring your experience to AA, but leave the negative attitude behind. Really. Guys over here are generally great guys to fly with and hang out with on overnights. Be one of them.
Great advice on the second paragraph.

However, this whole staying "positive" or negative post is completely crap. There's is the truth, lies, and WAGs... Calling someone out on their absurdity isn't negative. Being realistic isn't negative. I have also read his post and others like him for a long time and they are mostly absurd pipe dreams bordering on lies. And I hate liars.

Also, I hate the "I know something you don't know...." post. He claims to just want to give information and stay positive but, then gives a big F U and insults our DFW CA rep. Skyvector get off your high horse.

Wasn't the (fired) DFW CA rep on here recently bashing Skyvector and others, claiming there were no new bases and if there were he would know about it? He was pretty adamant if I remember correctly. The high horse Neal sits on makes all others look like ponies.

And I love the "being negative is realistic" trope. Fits nicely with the "being positive means you are management" one. Listen to the AA guy who gave you some good advice.

First off stop insulting someone behind their back. It's not appropriate. If you are going to insult an actual person then at least identify yourself. Just stop with the insults please.

Yeah I hate the "being positive means you are a management/recruiter" idea too. It fits sometimes but not all the time. However the "being negative is realistic " is definitely an idea sky vector and company types use all the time. Any time anyone addresses real QOL issues we face we get called negative. It's not negative to want a better QOL, pay, work rules, management pilot relationship or updated reserve rules.

I agree with your second paragraph in principle. It just occurs to me and others that many of you take everyday issues personally and blow it up into something it's not. Look, I worked at Mesa. I don't care how bad you think things can get here. Our worst day is better than the best day at Mesa. I don't even know where to begin so I won't even start or else I'll blow an artery. But I have perspective on this issue. So take it for what it's worth.

As far as Skyvector goes..some of you were way too hard on him. You didn't like him because he was positive. Then from there you worked backwards to find reasons to justify not liking him. Bogus.

Maybe I'm biased. I know the guy in real life. I flew with him a couple of times recently and he is easily one of the top 3 Captains I have ever flown with. Easy going, laid back, yet professional. Not to mention really funny and fun to hang out with. I know it's not just me because other FOs always speak positive about flying with him. One FO told a story of how he got to his car at the end of a trip to see a flat tire and he didn't have a spare. Skyvector has been his Captain on that trip and was there. Instead of going home to spend time with his family, Skyvector drove the guy to discount tire, drove him back to DFW with the new tire then changed it for him. I mean...say what you will. That's pretty stand up.

I texted him this morning and he just laughed this whole banning business off. He doesn't care. But unfortunately we lost one of the only actual sane voices around here who actually provided some useful information. Yeah...he was positive because he is a positive person. Better than you grim reapers we have around here.

I have nothing against him personally. I don't like it when people lie. There's a difference between speculation and flat out lies. Let me give you a couple examples. Saying we are going to flow 750 pilots over two years 2016/17 is a lie. Saying we are going to flow 40 per month in Jan of 2017 is a lie. Saying we have a sub two year upgrade is a lie. Saying things that are actually not true or no possibility of being true is what I can't stand.

The stuff he said about bases opening up is pure speculation/company goals. I'm completely ok with him giving that information out.

Saying there is a huge announcement coming is simple annoying.
