A Potential Return
#1
Greetings All,
I left for a Part 91 job in 2012 and am now considering returning to Envoy. I have a few questions.
Do medical benefits start on day one?
It's my understanding that the signing bonus of up to $22,100.00 is contingent on signing a 2 year contract. What are the factors that affect how much of a bonus you receive? Are there any other bonuses offered?
As far as upgrade time, it's my understanding that people with 1000+ 121 time can get an upgrade on the first bid. How long does it take to get off of IOE from date of upgrade award?
Thanks.

Never mind that guy. To answer your questions:
Yes. FYI if you're married and your spouse works they charge a "surcharge" of $100 a month in addition to the premium you pay for family. Penalty fee is a better name for it.
22,100 is for the 145 & crj. If you're old enough in the class to get the 175 then it'll be 17,500. You'll have to agree to the two year contract to receive a signing bonus. I'm told if you leave before completing two years you owe it back, but if you get a year done they'll pro rate it. So those are your choices - 22.1 or 17.5, don't sign=no bonus, sign=bonus, accept bonus=2 yr commitment
For upgrade, last I heard we have unfilled captain vacancies and if you qualify (2500TT, 1000/121) you can upgrade.
I'm not sure how backed up they are on IOE. My guess is a couple of weeks from the recent new guys I've talked to.
Hope that helps.

To answer the last question it really depends on what you are going into. Short answer is 10-16 weeks. If you are a FO and upgrade on the same equipment then you can get through training quicker through a qualified upgrade program vs long term program. 145 might be a couple weeks faster and than the 175. Senior guys get a to go first so there could be a 2-4 week difference in start dates from the most senior to the most junior pilot. From award to class the longest is 10 weeks to wait. After check ride to IOE is 4-5 days. FAA ride 1-2 weeks.
The grass isn't always greener isn't?

Brah! Are you still hoarding all that boom-chic-a-pop from first class? I heard you forgot the door code to D terminal the other day and couldn't get back in the jetbridge. Don't worry..happens to the best of us. My advice is to ride the DFW Skylink wearing your safety vest and sunglasses...that way everyone knows you mean business. Bonus points if you also wear an Apple Watch.

Hey guys, I applied at Envoy last year in December, got the contingent offer letter, and after a week they retracted the offer. I still don't know why they did that. I put on application I was ready to start employment in 6 months from that date, (maybe that is why they denied me). No criminal history etc etc. (had 3 failures before, one of them was a type rating failure it was my first jet initial but then went there after a week did 1 sim session and passed it, and the other 2 were commercial single and commercial multi a long time ago) I don't know if their computer algorithm knocked me out for that or what. My question is, can I apply again after certain time and if yes, am I blackballed because of what happened last year when I applied? Now, when I apply, if I can re-apply, I will be ready to start class as soon as they call me. Different than when I applied last year I said I could start 6 months from that day.
Also, any news on the MIA base for new hires??
I am looking to leave 135 position to finally seek a career in 121 with a flow to AA. Please, advice anyone?
Thanks - Fly safe!
