Hey All,
Wanted to get opinions on what you would do today based on your knowledge, if you were to choose between hiring on as a new FO with either Compass or Envoy, and why.
Assume all things being equal, except that my plans would allow me to eventually live at an Envoy base (and headquarters - DFW), whereas I would always have to commute with Compass.
I would really appreciate your insights with regard to personal experiences, travel privileges, fleet growth, mabagement, schedules, upgrades, etc.
I've been reading this forum, so I'm aware of the the thread from the one guy who is really unhappy with Envoy, but wanted to get other opinions.
Thank you very much.

Live in base. Commuting sucks. Honestly, Envoy hasn’t been all that bad for me. Could the lines be better? Absolutely. A four day trip that is worth sixteen hours is pure insanity, but some months the lines are better than others. If you come here, be prepared for the 145 in ORD or LGA; and you’ll get to DFW in about six months. I have enjoyed my time here, and really hope that with Republic and EDV having vastly improved their compensation, that we will do the same. It will take an act of god for it to happen, but I can still hope.
Bottom line is that if you want the 175 and west coast flying, then go to Compass. If you want to live in base and move up the list fast, upgrade in two years (back to LGA) then give Envoy a whirl.

There are a lot of variables that you haven’t provided information for. What is your background and age? It plays into seniority in your class at Envoy. Where are you living now? How commutable is it to a junior base at Envoy? Those are a few of the things you need to evaluate. Nobody can decide those for you. And they can only base them on what things are now anyway. Things are incredibly dynamic. A decision today can be the wrong one tomorrow.

Just out of curiosity, why would you choose Compass out of all places if your choice other than Envoy would entail a commute? But to answer your question, definitely Envoy in this scenario. EDV or RAH with their upcoming TA, well that's a more difficult decision.

Compass is in a very risky position in my opinion. With how hard it is to hire pilots, I’m sure they will be ok. But they have a very small fleet with AA that could easily be reduced to 0. Delta is a big unknown for them too. I’m not saying go to Envoy, but I’d avoid Compass.
