Why is the company only running vacancy bids every 3 months if they are so desperate for captains? Seems running it every month would make more sense to grab every FO who crosses 1000 hours as soon as possible...

It's not out of the question if things don't turn around rapidly.

Opening the flow flood gates does them no good. The problem is they're severely short on CAs. Opening the flow floodgates does them more harm than good. We are WAY FO heavy compared to the CA side. Therefore, we can't take more flying like they'd like us to. Since we can't take on more flying since we don't have the CAs, they're paying tons of FOs that they don't need to just sit around and take up space. They know furloughing would be PR suicide, but something has to give. Hence, the slowing hiring for now. They need CAs. And until they realize that they aren't going to get CAs without reasonable CA pay rates, they will be short.

Not that I believe it will do much good, everyone needs to fill out the pulse survey and be honest.

You mean there isn’t a bottomless bucket of ready made captains ready to sell their soul for 45k?

How long did it take compass to start getting normal class sizes after they stopped hiring a few years ago. They didn’t even furlough. They knew better
