Never underestimate the power of the back channel. Whether it is nepotism (E175) or any other, small, tightly connected group.

He might be connected with Envoy management, but that only gets you so much.
No major would hire him with his lack of experience, no matter who he’s “connected” with. He’s a total newbie. He’s barely off of IOE at his first airline gig out of school. His few months of right seat time at Mokulele in the Caravan don’t help him at all.

He has more relevant experience than your average fighter ace from the AF, and majors have no problems hiring those.

Haha! Uh, no. Not quite. There are plenty of well connected young pilots out there, and nobody gets on at a major with Swayne’s extremely low experience level. Maybe in a year or so, but not right now.

And there’s no way anyone would compare his experience to a military trained pilot with similar hours. No comparison.

Don’t want to make this a military versus civilian, but I have to disagree with you. Flying a caravan is just a big Cessna. And he can’t have much time here, which I do agree is relevant.

You say this like it’s a bad thing. Use whatever connections you’ve got.

I personally know people with no jet chops whatsoever who waltzed into a legacy job (not AA), however they all had big visible diversity points to offer, ie minority female on top of networking.

I agree with what you are saying, but he’ll be at mainline long before 1000 TPIC. in fact, the only reason he’ll upgrade before leaving is because envoy wants him to make a video about upgrade.

Would you go to mainline if they offered you a job years before your flow? I bet you would.

I don’t understand the point of making up hypotheses about things none of us know ANYTHING about. Let’s just make this a thread to spread rumors about Swayne. It should just be retitled that I know there’s almost never reliable info on APC, but this is some next level nonsense.

I said that because someone thought he is just a small fish in a big tank. My point was that Swayne WILL use those channels, because he has some of them available.

I certainly would. I’m just not not in any of those aforementioned groups.
