Because it’s childish and we will get made fun of by other pilot groups while simultaneously cause others to lose respect for us

Spend it on crew room upgrades. Or lanyards or something union will approve of.

Any chance of getting rid of the LaQuintas in the middle of nowhere?

I would say that the hotel committee is gradually improving the hotel situation. Our current chair is active and engaged. Things seem to be getting better although this certainly doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement at certain overnights.

Always always always fill out crew cares if you have a particular experience, even if the hotel is great. It takes less than five minutes and is a huge help even if you don’t see any direct results from it.

There is a process to be followed, and sometimes things work the way the world works. I cannot say what input the union had or did not have in the latest hotel change.

The lady checking me in used to work at the Holiday Inn. I asked about the coincidence and she explained the reason. The HI sales manager went to the la Quinta knowing the HI contract was getting close to renewal. She was friends with someone who works at Envoy corporate who has decision authority with hotels. La Quinta got the contract, however no way to know if it was legitimately or not. This sales manager also hired her (front desk lady) to bring her over being familiar with Envoy needs.

The info above makes me loose faith in the way the "process" is supposed to work.

All that aside, the hotel is a nice facility, and they seem to try. The only food is a gas station 1/2 mile away. The shuttles are struggling covering multiple commitments. The lack of walking distance food should be enough to change this place. The hotel's fix is to use an app called door dash. That should not count as compliance.
