My next month is better than that.

Wanna bet?

Wow, congratulations DERA! now, can you imagine how much more you would make if the company valued us for what we are worth?

Maybe you make that ammount, kudos to you 175 FO first year... That is the problem with you, you do mot know how the rest of the airline lives. The world does not revolve around you and your cheerleading is simply pitiful.

You have to be working in some way for management... i really hope you do, at least that way i can understand why you try so hard to convince everyone in here this is not as bad as what everyone says.

But if you are a regular line pilot, WOW! i really hope we never cross paths.

Lately the company has been terrible to me (personal situations which of course i will not share here) and you know what? they pushed me and i just spent 4.5 hours cleaning and sending apps and studying for an upcoming interview.

In short, that’s great you are making bank... i have personally flown with an FO who does UBER to be able to afford living in base, student loans,, mortgage, car and a new baby.

Stop telling people how great it is here and maybe your 4k will turn into 6500... wouldn’t that be nice?

Fly safe man, cheers 🤘🏻

Dera, min guarantee is 2750 or thereabouts first year before taxes.
Let's say you were busting your butt and were away 400 hrs - so 760 in per diem (because I'm sure you counting that in as "income")
That leaves us with 4300 - 760 (pd) - 2300 (min.g.) = 1240 hard earned after tax pay.
Or about 1364 before tax. At 150% year one pay thats 24 hrs picked up.
Doable? Perhaps. Even at 6 hrs a day that's 4 days and, unless your OT is drastically different from everyone else's, more like 6 days. So you pick up down to 8 days off. Which some people do, their choice, but go hit yourself against the wall before projecting that as normal for "taking 4300 home".
That's peanut pay and absolutely nothing to be proud of.
My first flying job daily rate x your days paid more (significantly more if you count the perdiem) and that was a few ratings and years ago.
Tl;dr our pay isn't something to write home about. Unless you're asking for money, because yeah, then it would be.

Here's the problem: How the heck can I know what's going on with the rest of the airline, when all the comments you guys post can easily be verified to be false within 5 seconds? You know, "years of reserve", "800 dollars per paycheck", and so on?

Post facts, not fiction, and people might take you seriously. How about that?

Hey - someone driving Uber is fine, if they have a mortgage, a new baby, student loans and such. That sounds like horrible financial planning to me. Why not go fly 135 and make way more money than a regional captain would, and pay off those debts? You know there are jobs in aviation outside airlines, and at the regional level, most of them pay much, much more.
Oh but they have flow? I'm sorry, I forgot. But you are saying it's not worth anything. Clearly it is to some.

I've said this so many times - your moaning and *****ing here has virtually zero effect on recruiting. Per a senior union rep, applications went up by a considerable amount after PSA pay rates. People know we will eventually get them. The only effect you guys have is that no-one takes you seriously any more.
Stick with the facts - the truth is bad enough. No need to post lies and BS.

Your calculations are pretty close. I had 12 days off though, not a bad month, way less PD than you estimate but yes, it's part of the take home pay.

I never said it's normal, you're forgetting the context where I said that. But it's doable. And if you have student debt, a mortgage, and a new baby, maybe you should pick up that OT?

I had to work pretty hard to make it - but when Varsity says, and I quote,

Bull.

I don't know a single FO netting 4k a month. Let alone a new one.
I can only say that's patently false. Most senior FO's make that who fly the good productive lines, and pick up the good day trips off OT.
95 hours block, 15 OT, 105-110 credit, and 13-14 days off is common.
Most junior CA's say they made more money as senior FO's, than as RSV CA's.

My previous flying job paid a lot more too. If you can't make it here, go to 135. They pay a lot more for PICs than regionals do.

Ijustlikeflying 07-03-2019 10:14 PM

Just an observation

If I was netting 4K a month I would be doing anything I could to hide from this upgrade. Never once have I ever net more than 3600.

1-Umm read my post bro, never even mentioned flow.
2-I think your reply was very rude and extremely defensive. Sorry if i pushed your management buttons.
3-I never post “fiction” or whatever you are saying i am lying about. The “*****ing” i tend to post is actual life stuff that happens to me.
4-you are right, there are higher paying jobs out there. Worked all afternoon polishing my apps to get one of those.
5-i never said flow means nothing, it is worth something really. I am just not willing to stay here and take your bull#&$ for 3 more years.
6-poor financial planning... well that guys poor financial planning was being overseas fighting for our country, that just shows the lack of human touch you must have.
7-Yeah, i think you are probably right... people who read this forums probably think the raises are coming and are trying to ride the wave early (smart) My problem with envoy goes beyond pay (which is $#!+ btw) the lack of respect and appreciation and understanding for your pilots is frankly insulting and i am not willing to be a part of that.

8-For the rest of us Captains and FOs who read this, Jetblue, spirit, frontier, and Alaska are sending out invitations... honestly to have at least a shot you will probably need at least 3000 + TT

I deserve more and i am looking for more than a pay raise DERA...

Safe flying!

9-If you are not management and you are a regular line pilot who has been lucky enough to have it that good, i truly congratulate you. Dera for president... you say you are a 1st year FO. Just FYI for some reason, once you upgrade the company kind of stops giving a Funk. I hope that cold bucket of water does not hit you.

I guess you've been drinking, because your post goes back and forth and it's hard to follow.

4. Good luck, EVERYONE should be doing this. If you stay here with no apps out, you are stupid.
5. You are a management shill if you say flow means something. Ask anyone.
6. Thank him for his service. But why is he at Envoy? That is poor financial planning. Better paying flying jobs elsewhere, why not go there? 135 PICs make pretty easy $80-100k first year. No need to drive Uber.
I bet he has a new truck, a nice boat, and a 5 bedroom house.

Our pay sucks. 100% agree.
Did I know the pay when I applied? Yes I did.
Did I adjust my spending to make it work. Yes I did.
