Depart Envoy Arrive American
Merry Christmas folks.
Wow, what a banner year at Envoy. The flow engine is now fully spooled and humming like a Shelby Cobra. On the other end, Envoy is inundated with pipeline candidates just clamoring for their chance to get in the door. It is very competitive and unfortunately there is a long waiting list. 2020 is going to be incredible. It’s truly the best time ever at Envoy. This isn’t your Dad’s “American Eagle.” This is Envoy which far and away blows away anything of that former shell. Where else can you hire on to a major airline as a pipeline candidate? Nowhere is the answer. That’s why the qualifications and interview are so tough. |

Nah. It’s the same old recruiter/troll as always.
Merry Christmas! |
Wow first post and you come out of the gate lobbing a grenade.
I guess it has been pretty quite around here, so my popcorn is ready! Merry Christmas! |

Dacuj made his way out of Talk Airline and into APC

I will say this, a buddy of mine.... a VERY strong candidate got told TBNT last week, as did his entire interview group that day.
We seem to have a very low acceptance rate and I’m in long term upgrade right now and it seems like there’s 6 candidates a day interviewing. |

I’ve had two buddies get rejected from The Envoy and one went to Republic and the other Skywest.i thought they were pretty qualified but idk it has seemed like lately we haven’t been giving everyone with a pulse a job as of late

It’s unfortunate how many well qualified applicants are being rejected by our selection team. It seems as if they are targeting folks with a 4 year degree and turbine experience. However, Envoy is known for becoming very picky and then very desperate. Give it until Q2 of next year and we will start hiring everyone and anyone again. The big 3 are looking to hire 1,000 plus each next year, not to mention LCCs and ULCCs.

Doesn't quite work that way. Folks getting hired have to meet AA standards and from there only the most qualified are selected. Not to worry. The line to get in for pipeline guys is long and only getting longer. No shortage of applicants. Just have to hire AA pilots.

The one thing that is humming like a Shelby Cobra is outside attrition, especially in the more senior group of pilots. Something that hasn't been happening until now.
Another 2 sub-900 numbers left their notice a few days ago. |

20/mo flow is unacceptable. Gotta pump those numbers up.

Fun fact, the flow shrinks by 9 per month in two weeks and after the L10-11’s are gone will be based on a ratio which given the current staffing numbers will never get above 21 per month. So please tell me again how you and your fellow Kool-Aide drinkers are going to sell the flow to aspiring cadets. So your Shelby Cobra is about to be downgraded to a Escort LX wagon.

We lose about 40-55 people per month right now so that’ll prolly drop to what, 30-45? That’s what I’m thinking since the flow is going from 29 to 20.

When exactly does the flow drop to 20? Which month of new hires at AA?
When the last protected pilot flows, which I think has just happened so next month will be the start of the next group of flows, the 10/11 group, which will flow at 20 per month. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Ok I wasn’t 100% sure if it was last week or the 7th. Thanks for the correction! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Pretty sure the guy that flowed a while back does not care about the intellectual property. |

If you want to edit the current one, talk to the guy who made it. It's not an ALPA project. It's done by one guy. Email him directly if you want to take over. Tell us what he says. |

Nothing prevents you from creating it from scratch. You have all the data you need.

All the information that is on the two seniority list spread sheets may be available to all union members, but it is not readily accessible. No one wants to get 2000 emails a month asking about updates to the information. Guys that do stuff for the union do enough. The whole point of the list is it is compiled and in one location that can be accessed simply by logging onto the union website.
If the union was to post all the information on a regular basis on the secure website so it was accessible in the same manner I’m sure that would be a 90% solution. I’m sure there would be plenty of people who would compile the information available because they want it themselves and share what they did. |
Copy, paste, edit said list??? Just a thought.

It’s also password protected from editing. But if someone could parse the data they could paste it into excel and then give it to ALPA or maintain it themselves. Really dumb how this is even an issue the original guy who made it isn’t selling it nor did he make any money off of it, I think....

It sounds like you already did so why don't you tell us what he said. I do know of guys running their own list then again I don’t know how accurate this would be, prob don’t trust those numbers as they get not back up from the union like that one guy does. But why not do it yourself? Easy: You get the movement from one seat to another and new hires from the flow plan, then you run a DECS script that runs a *4 for every pilot on the list and finds the people who has a RE/DE/RT in there. And then parse all these results into a .CSV file. The flow date calculation is a simple excel formula. The list could use additional features as well. You could run a 21 for everyone and see who has what line. That way it could list the junior lineholder for each seat. Now that you know one way to do it, why won't you go ahead and take the project on? I can guarantee the Union would support you fully with this. |
We can also call our MEC reps and express a desire for a updated list if it’s such a “this is ours” issue.

ALPA (well. ENY MEC to be more exact) has no rights to the list. The person with the access is not with Envoy any more. It's 100% his call if he wants to update it or not. |
