AA is now canceling/suspending classes. If the company follows suit with the rest of the industry, we’ll be lucky to see classes mid-summer. That said, every month classes are postponed adds precious time to your flow date and is actually costing you tremendous amounts of money in the short term (time-value of money invested) and also in the long-term due to earnings potential at the end of your career relative to the age 65 retirement age.
Hiring will resume someday.* AA retirements can offset some of the cuts to the system in the short term.
*AA is in dire financial trouble and lacks the liquidity to financially weather this storm if it lasts more than a handful of months. Bankruptcy is already being floated by financial analysts. United’s net bookings are down 70% for April alone; if this holds true for AA, grab the popcorn and possibly an updated resume.

Shhh... you don't want more competition. Let them figure it out on their own.

On the flip side. Anyone who left outside the flow in the previous year is looking at potential furlough. I feel extremely lucky to be senior at PSA and not on the bottom of the list somewhere else. I don’t think having a number is worth being on the street. It’s all about timing.
