Your advice sounds better suited for a single guy fresh out of college. I on the other hand am not willing to be miserable for an extra year of a higher salary 30 years from now.
I’m not saying to not jump on the first opportunity to move on. Most of the time that’s the safer play. But in today’s scenario I would say a majority of people who have moved on in the previous year are wishing they would have waited just a little bit longer.

I agree with the dude. Different strokes, different folks. No one is hiring. No one is flowing for the foreseeable future. No one is beating anyone or losing seniority to any OTS hires. The people squawking the loudest have never been thru a recession and the hot air is just a defense mechanism. Btw Jody is taking care of his old lady just fine.

On the flip side. Anyone who left outside the flow in the previous year is looking at potential furlough. I feel extremely lucky to be senior at PSA and not on the bottom of the list somewhere else. I don’t think having a number is worth being on the street. It’s all about timing.
