Question Compass to Envoy ERJ-175 Transfer Countdown

The Trans States Holdings holy triumvirate is falling apart:

- TSA is closing shop at the end of this year. They’re already junior manning captains left and and right due to being short staffed; some guys and gal I know over there would be surprised if they don’t implode during the summer. This COVID-19 pandaemonium might be the needed life support to float the company a little longer, but the writing is on the wall.

- GoJet has about approximately 9 years of UAL CRJ-550 flying left, but COVID-19 is doing major damage to UAL’s network and cuts are coming. Word from pilots over there is that they may have to run the April bid with the potential for furlough on the table. GoJet seems to be the most stable of the 3 companies, but as we’ve seen, things can change on a dime - especially with the UAX carriers.

- Alas, Compass. The pilots were strung along with an elusive deal “to be announced Friday” for months on end after the news of Delta flying winding down. With COVID-19, Delta flying has come to a halt and they’re announcing furloughs. Coupled with cuts to AA flying, it stands to reason that the company may fall apart at the seams and be unable to fulfill their contractual obligations. In that case, it stands to reason those planes may be phased in to Envoy’s fleet. Obviously this is a worst case scenario for their pilot group, but the writing is on the wall for TSH. Fortunately, even with the (hopefully) short to mid-term effects of COVID-19, pilot hiring will have to happen at the majors and, therefore, the regionals. Industry consolidation is almost a given with the number of FFD regional carriers and the squeeze on regional pilots for labor.

So, if/when we get the planes, what do you all suspect happens? Do we add planes and pilots? Do we draw down or transfer out 145s and replace them with 175s? Do we increase flying in DFW & ORD or do we add 175s to LGA or MIA? New pilot base altogether?

AA is in survival mode. All bets are off. Let’s just hope we still have jobs.

Why do y’all care so much about the 175? We have bigger concerns than a damn compass 175s.

The running joke is that things were supposed to be announced Friday. Also, we are currently staffed at roughly 14-15 pilots per airplane, and plenty of flight attendants. What makes you think we can't fulfill contractual obligations? This COVID-19 hit us at a time when we were heavily staffed during a wind down period, and lets face it TSH runs cheap. Therefore furloughs will happen. It amazes me how gung-ho you guys have been about YOUR airplanes since 2015.

This ^^^

Half of AA’s widebodies are sitting idle, and most regional routes can barely fill a C-172 these days, let alone a 175. Parker isn’t worried about 20 76-seat airplanes. He’s sitting in his office praying Trump doesn’t ban air travel altogether.

AGREED! It really ****es me off how some regional pilots care so much about the airframe. At envoy if you are not pay band C, you are getting 145 pay-race to the bottom

Who cares? I certainly don’t, there are way better careers and business opportunities out there like starting a Marijuana dispensary. It won’t be the end of the world not wearing polyester and working in sweat shop conditions. Always have a Plan B and good luck to all.
