I believe they dry lease 16 900s. As to whether AA has any say on the leases and who can operate them no clue. But the new contract also allows AA much more flexibility to pull flying. Up to 10 this summer and I think 10 more in 2022.

I think the ones in charge expected recovery and vaccine rollout to have happened sooner.
With the new strains coming and international travel being hosed once again, some of these decisions seem dubious at best.
The longer I do this job the more I realize how speculative it is and how decisions take time to come to fruition. I feel like that is why we see a lot of strange positioning in hindsight.

I was joking brother, I couldn’t bring myself to drive a Prius. I have been tossing around the idea of a Model 3 though, especially now that I can download Move B**** by Ludacris and have that as my horn.
