That low? I was under the impression most airlines do 9-10 crews per plane.

I think 5 crews ler plane was regional standard prior to 117. I think it s slightly higher now. But not much.

BigZ 09-14-2020 11:32 AM

Around 11 pilots, so yeah, 5 crews

You’ll see lots of people displacing to it. I would guess that it will be even more senior than it is now.

But seriously 09-14-2020 12:57 PM

My guess is there won’t be a lot of change in who is actually based in MIA once it all sorts out. As they displace 145, most of those displaced will bid over to the 175.

I know there are some 175 commuters in other bases that will transfer in, and some MIA based pilots who won’t want to do long term, but, on the whole, I’m guessing it’s fairly close to a wash.

Theres a bunch of ex MIA 145 FO’s that bid to 175 CA a year or two ago that will bid back to mia.

I’d be bidding top 40% right now if I was on the right equipment, just wondering if the 175 will skew higher or lower. 4XX Decs seniority.

If MIA is only going to be 10-12 airplanes (roughly 110-130 pilots total) why are the staffing levels still so chubby? Especially in ORD, over 250ish pilots for 36 lines on the 175. How did we manage to only furlough 230 pilots in the entire company?

Maybe something else is brewing in Pedro’s kettle.

People said the same thing when we had 150+ E145 FO's on reserve in Chicago a couple years ago. What's brewing is the same fetid thing that has been brewing since then. Famously bad staff planning.

Yeah I have to agree. Things seem strange, especially when you considered we only moved 15 pilots to dfw from Ord. Not sure why they want us so heavily staffed for September and October in ORD.

IMO,

When we were 60/40 145/175 fleet, I think the company put all extra pilots on the 145 (via new hires). We're on the way to 60/40 175/145 and I think the new plan is all extra pilots on the 175 going forward. Expect a deep reserve list on the 175 even when things recover.

I don't disagree with you except that I feel this is poor staff planning. They should split surplus pilots proportionately between the fleets. Or better yet, just send them back to their flight schools. Cadets are not union pilots and the last thing we need is more BFs around here.

Enjoy doing the same flying YX did in MIA, on the same exact routes, on the same exact aircraft, but making less pay.

As if Envoy pilots had any say in the matter. Envoy gets their marching orders from the same people Republic does. Redirect your anger.

wow, what a short memory.... LOL

worse, literally coming from a company that wouldn't even exist except to fly somebody else's regional routes.

Expect a lot of through flying from the other bases I guess , assuming no bid in ‘ Feb or March.

Yeah because we have any control over what flying we get, not to mention this statement coming from a Republic pilot. The irony is thick.

ORD 145 Feb lines have TONS of MIA flying.
Lots of straight up MIA layovers too.
What are the chances they move us back to the Sherry... :)

Weren’t there a few YX pilots taunting us just a few months ago because we were losing ORD flying to them. Hmmm

With PSA recalling all pilots and hiring more I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel for the WO’s

It most likely is if we’re being honest. AA is a train wreck

We don't really cost anything. Paying regional pilots is a tiny drop in a vast ocean for AAG. I agree it's promising but I wouldn't read too deeply into it.

So Biden’s been in office for 1 day and has already squashed any international market in Miami we could’ve capitalized on.

buddies8 01-21-2021 04:42 PM

He's just a mindless fool doing others bidding, but heard people coming from south to visit him with his open invitation.

Did you watch his briefing today, he’s not all there, can’t read a damn sentence, has no idea what he’s reading nor signing, and hilariously they talk about everyone coming together yet he still throws swipes like he’s still in campaigning mode (well who ever’s writing his speech, he just tries to read it).

As the last poster stated above, he’s doing others biding. Biden had no idea what he was even signing today, you could tell by his ramblings. I watched the whole briefing go down on CNBC. It wasn’t drama packed like trump briefings, but it had me shaking my head for new reasons.

He also made a claim that wearing masks will save 50,000 lives, which how the hell do you come up with that number? That would have been debunked as a trump lie in seconds, yet nobody in the media has called him out. Looks like we’re back to normal now. We’ll be fighting another war in no time in the Middle East.

Which one is that? The one that the previous Administration conceded to the Taliban to satisfy someone’s ego, the pointless proxy war that it backed in Yemen, or the attempt(s) at starting a hot conflict with Iran that it bumbled?

While we’re at it, what is SkyWest doing over here talking politics? It wasn’t enough to make the ORD G concourse your breakroom?

Funny how you want nothing to do with my statements on Biden because you know damn well he’s nothing but a little puppet boy with early stages of dementia. His Masters will be running the show for the next 4 years, buckle up.

Taliban ain't going anywhere, the last 20 years of warfighting should have taught you that. The only.solution right now is coming to some sort of appeasement on both sides.

Yemen? Really? That has been going on for decades son. You should have seen all the people Obama blew up there with his drones while he was in office.

The last time I checked we are not at war with Iran so you can settle down now. Why are you so scared of them?

Stick to talking about things you actually have some knowledge in like knowing which pronouns to call AOC and over exaggerating the protests at the Capital.

No company would exist if regional routes go away...including the WO's there skipper. Regional's don't own routes, and you didn't think this through before you posted obviously.
