Miami 175

“Envoy has not operated from its New York crew base since late March due to COVID-19. We can now confirm that Envoy will be closing its crew domiciles in New York. Envoy may continue to operate some flights to and from New York/LaGuardia (LGA) and New York/John F. Kennedy (JFK), but the aircraft and crew won’t be based there. Regrettably, Envoy will be closing our maintenance and stores operations at LaGuardia and JFK in conjunction with this decision. We will be reaching out to affected employees with more detailed shutdown plans as those are finalized.

While closing our New York domicile and maintenance locations are unfortunate, we are pleased to announce that Envoy will deploy the EMB-175 from our Miami International Airport (MIA) crew base. This deployment is likely to begin in the second quarter of 2021 and be completed by the end of 2021. Aircraft counts and timing are yet to be determined. When complete, these aircraft will replace our EMB-145s in Miami”

Thoughts?

As for the 175, How senior you think it will go?

If you have to ask then you’re too junior to hold it

HAHA! Good point. I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to hold it without issue. But I see where you coming from. 🤣🤣🤣

Dont everyone get their panties all twisted up, wait for the vacancy to come out first.
for now it's just public relations make you all feel good.

CA 02/15 hire, FO 06/17.

Complete guess but since I don't speak or understand the primary language down there I don't care lol

At this point I’d say that’s a fairly accurate guess on the Captain side. It might go deeper into 15 though.

What the current junior hire dates? It sounds like the size won’t really change much, if at all, so problems not a lot of changes in the list either. Might be a few that didn’t want or get the 175 initially as FO that may try to get there.

THKooj 09-10-2020 10:50 AM

I've been telling you guys this for about a year now. It just came about in a bit of a different way than expected.

OffAtTango 09-10-2020 11:25 AM

Pre covid days how many CA/FOs were based in Miami?

This was going to happen eventually. Envoy has been planned to be all 175 at some point. So, yes it happened. But that still doesn’t give any credence to your posts.

Like in an all those employees in NYC are going to lose their jobs way, or in a not knowing whether this will be a net gain or loss of aircraft way?

But seriously 09-10-2020 12:22 PM

It’s a shame they couldn’t come out with this info before the previous displacements. There are definitely a few ex-MFE that would have displaced differently if they’d known they’ll never get back to Miami on the 145.

I don’t think the company was hiding anything. I’m just saying it sucks for them.

Gooselives 09-10-2020 12:31 PM

They can’t make up there mind. Open, close, open, close NYC. People QOL just decreased greatly by forcing commuting.

I hear the voy is holding open house job fairs for rampers. In case you’re trying to figure what you might be doing with your impending potential down time.
But with your internal connections I’m sure you’re gonna land on your feet with a job at HQ, or maybe end up as Dougweiser’s caddy/lawn boy/pool boy.

buddies8 09-10-2020 02:51 PM

Cabana boy more likely

Don’t act like you had any special back channel info. It’s been on the cards for the last 18-24 months. Just took a pandemic to make it happen.

You’re also glossing over the fact that NY based crew just got shafted, so there’s that.

SeniorGummer 09-10-2020 04:20 PM

With or without Cares 2 (which will just postpone the second wave), I predict envoy will see the furloughs to be in the 4-500 range.

buddies8 09-10-2020 04:27 PM

Wait first, I would not put is past aag to reduce envoy in ord and hand more flying to republic.
furloughs will be a rolling number.
just an opinion.

Why?

10 CPZ 175's are still parked in the desert, and I have heard there are 175's in Brazil waiting for delivery. Who will fly those?

I would agree, however it is pure speculation. We are already pretty overstaffed and my guess would be that they would prefer to yank the furlough bandaid all in one swoop to get the pain over with.

SeniorGummer 09-11-2020 11:12 AM

The industry recovery is a moving target. The second COVID wave had them scraping their original plan, and from what I’m hearing plans going forward are changing on an almost daily basis.
Outward signs are pointing to parking more 145s than 175s that will be eventually brought out of storage and delivered from the factory.
Mind you, that 4-500 was just my prediction.
Unlike Kooj, I’m willing to admit when I’m wrong.

I wasn't wrong about MIA 175. It's been in the cards for a long time. Go back and check my post history and you'll see where I've mentioned 175 MIA is a done deal more than once. Finally, for the first time since 2014 and the closing of SJU, ATRs, Envoy will be plying the Caribbean right alongside AA and reclaim their rightful position in MIA.

SeniorGummer 09-11-2020 02:32 PM

When will envoy receive EOW certification since you’re so “in the know”?

Good try. Yes, Envoy parking 145s in favor of 175s has been in the cards for several years. But the reality is the 175s are just replacing those clapped out 145s which are moving to DFW to replace the even more clapped out older 140s. No indication that the ‘Voy will be doing anything different other than flying the same routes, just with planes that customers are happier to fly on (everyone hopes).

According to the a P2P who was on the call last night the process has started.

aewhistleblower 09-11-2020 03:15 PM

Are we gonna have specific airplanes down in Miami or the entire fleet is gonna be EOW?

The plan was drawn up shortly after the first 175 was received. Now it's being dusted off and adjusted as necessary. Tell me, how are you "in the know?" Answer, you aren't. In fact, your screen name indicates you likely know zip and the time is ripe for you to move on.

buddies8 09-12-2020 07:17 AM

Why dont you go and hide under your military awards, useless shi+.

Your reading comprehension is lacking. The OP wasn’t claiming to be in the know. He was sarcastically asking you, since YOU claim to be “in the know and connected at the highest levels” on all things Envoy and AAG.

You are certainly the pot to call the kettle black.
Why don’t you follow your own advice?

Predicting something that AA/Envoy has been stating all along isn’t impressive. The plan for Envoy was to be an all 175 fleet since we started taking delivery of the 175. I think most people would kindly (or unkindly) ask you to move along.

Did you get your furlough letter yet??

No. I’m sure it was directed towards THJKooj who is a self proclaimed modern day war hero.

Helij3t 09-12-2020 06:14 PM

Legend has it that he was the battalion commander during last year's civil war reenactments at Gettysburg.

most definitely not you. Sorry if any misunderstanding.

blackbox348 09-14-2020 09:03 AM

MIA Numbers

Union email said expect 10-12 aircraft worth of pilots. Any guess on the number of pilots total or per seat this represents?

crj700 09-14-2020 10:48 AM

Roughly 5 crews per plane.
