Been running into a lot of reserve captains under the impression they have to wait 15 minutes after blocking in to check for an assignment.
So who’s responsible for perpetuating this myth? And how do we stop them? Seems to get out of hand about every other year or so. It’s annoying. If the company wants that 15 minutes, they should be asking the union for it and giving us something in return. No one should be giving the company that for free!

Guys just take a screenshot of your HI3 as soon as you’re done. If nothing is there you’re off the hook. Don’t believe what the FA’s say.

Just make sure the HI3 shows you blocked in. They dinged a guy a few years ago when his HI3 still had the * next to the time.

One thing I'm not quite sure of is if your last leg is a deadhead back to base on other than own metal. Those block in times can be very opaque.

Really though, it seems everyone that posts here seems to know. So please, spread the word to the reserve guys you fly with. Someone is getting in their ears and telling them lies.

I agree on the still screenshot and go. "Opaque" was in reference to the fact that the correct block in time for a AA or TE flight might not populate in HI3 for a while
