PSA opening PHL and DFW bases was no coincidence.

I think you are right. I have been saying all 3 will merge into one, at some point. People have been denigrating what I have said. But I believe it will happen.

PSA DFW was to capture Mesa CRJ refugees that didn't feel like learning E175

It means they are out of the loop and think the payrates are still set to expire at the end of the year.

Ok, yeah. Last I saw a while ago was this. They got extended? Good news then.

Are the current Capt pay rates permanent or were they meant to be temporary?

I think the intention was for the rates to be temporary. However, other non AA regionals have matched the pay rates and made theirs permanent. If AAG tries to roll them back it puts the wholly owned at a competive disadvantage when it comes to pay. Just my opinion. YMMV

I ended up taking the CJO with SWA(WN). Training was good at a top notch facility. 99% of the people were great, friendly, happy to be there. We were treated like adults with access to training equipment (CPTs) off hours to practice. We had every bit of support we needed to be successful. Do not sweat the "it's not AQP" (yet). They did not release us to the checking events (Oral) and (PC in the SIM) until we were ready. They also accomodated some classmates that got ill or had family issues back home. A couple had need for some additional training, they just slid back and connected with another group and did fine.

Part of me is a bit salty about AAG/AA freezing us WO guys out of mainline, but so far I am feeling like this is a good thing. The people just feel a lot happier and nicer across the organization. The gate agents, rampers, ops agents, FAs, etc. Everything just feels easier. I'm also getting 17-18 days off either directly in my bid or with a tiny bit of trip trading. The trip trade tools are awesome compared to the 1970s insanity at ENY.

I can not say this enough... Do NOT wait for "the FLOW".. All of the big hiring push will be long over by the time you flow. Envoy and the E175 were enjoyable. I miss the E175. BUT... NOTHING... NOTHING... NOTHING is more important than getting to your final airline senority list. If AA is your passion and final destination, the WO regionals are NOT for you... unless you are just bad at math..

UA and DAL have both hired a bunch of ENY guys. If that's what you want, rock on you will likely have a good experience at ENY.

Good luck and smooth flying!
And if you decide AA is for you, now that you are out of their WO, they will call you within 15 minutes after submitting your app.

Unless the world goes mad and the hiring environment changes dramatically for some reason, then they can happily flip them back, creating a huge cost benefit compared to competitors.

I disagree for two reasons:
1) That "staple on" is a pipe dream. I'm happy to place a bet with you on that point.
2) If it did happen, I'd be happy for my old classmates and likely still beat their earnings across MY timeline (I only have 9 years left). The difference between AA and SWA on earnings across that timeframe isn't much different and my QoL is a LOT better.

A lot of people like to focus exclusively on "hourly rate".. That is VERY short sighted. There is a lot more to this life/career than $ per hour. This new contract (we just passed today) evens the NB playing field so $s are equal. Our soft money (ability to earn extra) and QoL flexibility is superior. I can work my line and get 17-19 days off and just get min guarantee.. our do a little pick up (living in base rocks) and do much better. And now we are getting extra payments if the company jacks our schedule around (line change override), etc. And our NEC (non-elective contributions to 401k) as aligned with the legacies.

I feel pretty confident in my move.
