I'm also much more confident in SWA's ability to survive a bad downturn versus AAG's balance sheet. (I don't wish a furlough on any of them. I have friends at most all the US 121s.) |

I disagree for two reasons:
1) That "staple on" is a pipe dream. I'm happy to place a bet with you on that point. 2) If it did happen, I'd be happy for my old classmates and likely still beat their earnings across MY timeline (I only have 9 years left). The difference between AA and SWA on earnings across that timeframe isn't much different and my QoL is a LOT better. A lot of people like to focus exclusively on "hourly rate".. That is VERY short sighted. There is a lot more to this life/career than $ per hour. This new contract (we just passed today) evens the NB playing field so $s are equal. Our soft money (ability to earn extra) and QoL flexibility is superior. I can work my line and get 17-19 days off and just get min guarantee.. our do a little pick up (living in base rocks) and do much better. And now we are getting extra payments if the company jacks our schedule around (line change override), etc. And our NEC (non-elective contributions to 401k) as aligned with the legacies. I feel pretty confident in my move. |
So if I understand this thread correctly if you are at Envoy and just apply normally to AA they will not select you to interview and force you to wait on the Envoy/AA flow which will take years and years.
I live in Chicago so doing some DEC Envoy research. I'm assuming the answer is going to be "Yes, filler" but just wanted to be sure. |

To answer your question — Yes, unless you check some other boxes I wouldn’t expect to be hired by American before United, Delta, Southwest, etc. But I would absolutely have my apps out everywhere and update your American app after you’re picked off by a competitor. That is of course if American is your destination carrier. Good luck |

What you’re reading is a few extremely petty individuals unloading their grievances on not being hired at American. They haven’t worked a single day at American but want to lecture everyone on the “culture”, give me a break. As someone who’s been at American for almost 2 years now, they have no idea what they’re talking about. We have more sandbaggers at American than Kool Aid drinkers so the AA threads can be misleading.
