Newbies pay attention here. This is where the snakeoil comes in.

Probably the captains who have decided to make Envoy their home. We have about 300 right now who plan on spending there last 3-8 years here as they have already passed on their flow opportunity

The kid is a tool. He just blatantly trolls on here since the mods gave up on modding.

The writing is on the wall. If you can muster 6 years in the regionals (which is nothing, trust me) and your goal is to be at a legacy, then envoy is the place to go with PDT being a close second. I wouldn't even be considering anywhere else.

What's with the 6 year number? There isn't 1 envoy pilot who will have waited 6 years or less to flow. Even a 2011 hire would have to flow in 2 years to make a 6 year flow. Everyone else has already worked there 6 years. You really think Envoy is gonna hire 500+a year for the next decade to keep the list moving and the flow going? No, somehow the new sh!t will hit the new fan and everyone will be screwed all over again.

Did you serve in the military? Did you fly in the military? Did you fly fighters or go to test pilot school? Are your squadron buddies writing 5, 6, even 7 letters of recommendation for you? Are you an astronaut? Do you have an MBA? A degree in something other than aviation? Do you have a charity or foundation you spend 20 hours a week working at?

I think I know the answer to most of these questions. You probably have a restricted ATP, are waiting for IOE, and have a Riddle sticker on your brand new kit bag.

Now to help you understand how ignorant you are. Go to Costco today and buy 5 large boxes of paper. Each box contains 10 reams, each ream has 200 sheets. No go home and open all 50 reams of paper, dump all 10,000 sheets on your floor. In this stack of 10,000 sheets take one and write your name on it. This one sheet represents you among the 10,000 applicants at the legacy carriers.

Now put your piece of paper at the bottom of the stack. This is where the legacy hiring departments view you right now. Now crinkle your piece of paper up to represent the prick attitude you have and the fact you work at PSA.

Hang in there though, in 20 years you will be lucky enough to have American look at your crinkled piece of paper. But when the hiring board puts two and two together and realize what an a$$ you are, they will put your crinkled piece of paper right back to the bottom of the pile. Enjoy being a captain of an RJ. It will be the highlight of your career.

Best post yet! The only thing I would change is to add about another 5,000 to these stacks. Probably at least 15,000 other regional, corporate, and military pilots out there with far more flight time and experience ahead of these PSA quick upgrade chasers who think they will just "get PIC and go to a major".

The Current regional CA's with 7-10k+ TT and check all the boxes understand this very well. We try to tell the newbies but they are oblivious and ignore it like it isn't real. "Gotta get that TPIC and get to a major in 3yrs". Lol. United recruiter just told me they had 8,000 qualified apps on file. Over 4,000 were highly competitive. Competitive was averaging around 8,000 hrs TT and they can be highly selective. Delta is twice as picky.

People with 2500-3500TT and 1000PIC thinking they will be on the fast track arent going anywhere. Hell, you can't even go to Spirit or Jetblue with those times because you won't even meet the minimums there, and nowhere near the actual competetive mins.

Clearly math has never been your strong suit. You do realize that the 6 year number is for a new hire and not someone who has been here for 4 years already, correct?

I realize if you buy stock when it's at its lowest and sell at its highest the you make the most money in the shorest amount of time. Now why don't I just go do that and retire early. Ford was at $6 bucks a few years ago. Apple was at $3 in the 90's. Cherry picking a snapshot is a useless salesmen pitch. Why do you think seniorty list are so hard to integrate, it's becsaue everyone uses their own snapshot of their movement on the list. DOH for AA and US post merger announcement is easy to understand because it uses the same snapshot for both sides. Now why isnt it that easy for the other 10k+ pilots on the list.

What the hell are you talking about?

Waitingformins 06-10-2015 11:54 AM

Any thing that happens to Envoy in 6 years can be applied to the whole regional industry. Envoy doesn't exist in a vacuum. If the std becomes 2k total 500 turbine, that will apply everywhere. You speak as if this is some deal of a lifetime that is driven by retirements, but only applies to Envoy.
