No 175's for Envoy

American Airlines is talking to other airlines ? but not its own Envoy Air ? about getting its 76-seat jets | Dallas Morning News

Hope it's just another scare tactic.

They say they have been talking for months. Guess the analysts wanted to know how much egg AAG has on its face, guess a lot. No pay no fly. They can get whomever they wish but they will have to pay a lot more for it to happen.

“We are in final negotiations with a couple of providers for placing the 175s. I’m not sure when we’ll announce something, but at some point we will, I believe, announce something,” Kirby said in response to a reporter question

Another very intelligent statement from AAG.

Mil pilot from the get-go, new to the part 121 game and kind of confused... So they're shopping around for another regional to place these nice, shiny new jets - but in essentially the same sentence say that they want Eagle/envoy to be this wonderful place where pilots can "upgrade" to mainline flying with AA. If they are placing so much stock in envoy and their pilots, why not let them fly their new jets? Is this some sort of "spanking" by Inc. for not taking concessions?

They can be "in talks" with every regional in the US, but that doesn't mean that anyone they're talking to would actually be able to staff those airplanes.

Talk is cheap. Call me when they actually have the bollocks to paint those airplanes with a regional partner's name, and try to fly them.

Maybe they could i dunno........give them to Envoy...

No 175's for Envoy

Or put them on the AA seniority list with mainline pay and work rules. Then they wouldn't have staffing problems...

When did a 175 become a regional jet anyway? Regionals used to be 30-50 seat turboprop operators. Now they want us flying routes like IAH-IAD and LAX-MSP for $24/hour. Put them at mainline where they belong.

I wonder who the first regional will be to fly an A319 for $24/hour sometime in the future.

Anything new here? No...

Admittedly I don't keep up with Eagle but this is new to me....

“We are in final negotiations with a couple of providers for placing the 175s. I’m not sure when we’ll announce something..."

60 planes aren't going to Eagle. Looking more official every day. Like someone above said, maybe they'll go on the AA certificate but more than likely Parker is gonna hand them to his buddy JO.
