Envoy From a Brighter Prespective
Hello I am strongly considering Envoy.
I live in Chicago IL, Im 25. I qualify for R-ATP 4 Year Aviation Degree Ultimate Career Goal: Legacy Airline I think Envoy Would be a wise choice. First Year Pay $26 Second Year Pay $35 New Hire Bonus $15,000 AA Mainline Travel Benefits AA Flow ( I expect about 10 Years to Flow ) I need ORD base Upgrade I expect 5years I think to bid the 145 as the reserve is shorter. Its all about expectations, what I want is your opinion if my expectations are realistic ? My other choice would be Skywest - Since that also has a ORD Base Thank You. |
Lets see...
In the last week, the company has fired ANOTHER union leader to try to prevent pilots from realizing how bad things are, and denied another pilot getting one day off for the funeral of a close family member due to low staffing. Also, Envoy announced that they are not going to open their ORD 175 base. Yup. Great place to go. |
Sounds like you got it all figured out

If you want ORD, I would seriously take a look into SkyWest over Envoy.... I was in the same position as you about eight months back; Envoy's darkening future did not seem like a wise choice at the time.

I mean, if i was the one who got denied i would think that situation would be too emotionally demanding and would render me unfit to fly, but that's just me. |
Having been at both your choices, i would say right now OO. 2 year upgrade to ORD. And get on a major asap.. Eagle... Ok. 5 year upgrade..??. Then dont count on the flow. Get your apps out! So 2 more years as captain 1000pic. So 7 years to marketable for a major... Just my take. Take SKW. Upgrade fast, get out... You would be 5 years deep at a major before your flow would even be on the near horizon..

YOUR A PILOT you should know you wont be there for family events and emergencies.
You clearly have already made up your mind, as evidenced by asking people to tell you only good things about envoy and leaving out the bad. Go ahead and go to Envoy and find out for yourself. |

My man, you clearly have a lot to learn. No company, in any industry, no matter how hard up on staffing should be preventing an employee from attending a FUNERAL. "Your(you're) a pilot" is not the end all be all answer to when you need to not be at work.
