Come to Envoy, free entourage!
Taken from notes from a Union conference call.
"...Another pilot was out on FMLA for chronic alleges and sinus issues. The company had this individual followed by a PI. The PI reported that the pilot drove to the bank and picked up a pizza on the way home. The pilot was terminated for this. In response to these types of events, ALPA has asked the company for a list of prohibitive actions while on FMLA that they expect an employee to comply with since discipline, up to and including termination, is being handed down..." Great place to work! Get a personal paparazzi for calling in sick! Don't like it? Well good news, you don't work here anymore!!! |

Hope the guy can get his job back, but really its probably better he isn't at envoy |
That's hilarious/ sad at the same time.

Wait.. I thought they were desperate for pilots....
|
It's a great time to be an Envoy pilot.
|
WT F? If ALPA doesn't get him his job back he needs to get an attorney. You explicitly cannot fly with sinus issues. How does getting pizza have any sort of cause for being terminated?
|
This is pretty much the same thing that happened to my buddy, except he wasn't on FMLA as far as I know. Tailed by a PI. They are after others too, apparently. I guess they feel they if a person calls out sick, they that means they need to be bed ridden. Any semblance of normal activity will be dealt with harshly and swiftly. It's even better, apparently, if the offender is weeks from flowing to AA. Greater impact when word gets out to the unwashed masses that the company has sent out their warlords: don't call out sick, because you MIGHT get fired.
|
You senior Captains and FO's keep calling in sick and abusing Leave of absence, that way I can move quicker up the list!
|
You guys should send a message to the company by EVERYONE calling in sick. "But it's an illegal job action!" [enchilada] em, they clearly don't play by the rules.
Hiring a [snore]ing PI? Are we in the twilight zone? How many thousands did that cost the company? LOL |
