As in all things aviation industry, Timing is a fickle thing. It has no algorithm that helps make it more predictable. Other than DEC's, I have no idea if recruiting accelerates anyone's timeline over another, nor what's offered in class. One class date (FWD or Backward) can make or break your experience at a company. The class before mine, all got the ATR with nothing else to choose from. My class had a mix of all Three fleets at the time (CRJ, EMB, and ATR), we waited roughly 3 months for a class date, did IOE right away, sat reserve for about 2 or 3 months, and upgraded in about 6 years (in 2011). The classes starting the following month sat reserve for about 2 years, and the classes that came onboard near the end of that year saw furloughs and displacements.
Good times...

For me it’s stupid if they decide to give this guy a class date because his social media stuff when they have been sending emails and crying about people taking pictures or videos while flying. Still not fair, no one is better than no one. He should wait his turn.

We're they making an exception? He was a few hours shy, right?

New poster here, but hey I thought I'd chime in on this... I know this guy from UND. He interviewed way back in February and was offered a position but had to wait this long for a date. I interviewed a few months after and will be waiting for a little while as well

Pretty sure no one was waiting for a class date for very long when that guy was hired. Just because people now have to wait doesn't mean people in the past should have waited too.

I looked it up on webref (what the agents use to look up priority) and that document is old and confusing. It mentions LUS and other outdated airlines.
It also references American Eagle/ wholly-owned airlines and doesn’t specify if they’re talking about envoy or American Eagle as all of the wholly owneds.
I’ll tell you this. It is 100% not right for a PSA pilot to go ahead of an AA pilot on an envoy/piedmont flight. I totally get having priority on your own airlines metal but wholly owned pilots getting priority over AA pilots on a flight not operated by their own airline is insane and needs to be changed.
It should go own airline pilots have priority and then AA/ other wholly owned and then OAL.

Fill it out on your iPad and then press and hold the screen and a pop up icon will come up and I think it's "copy page" and the paste it to an email. The address is on the bottom of the RF message.
