Hou757 is a Xjet troll. So what? I will keep posting my opinions on here as long as Xjet trolls show up on Mesa’s forum. I keep my comments here above board and positive. Unlike you do on other regional boards.

Long time lurker. Very low number of posts.
Unless this contract promises industry leading pay and QOL. Who cares that you are gitting new planes. Especially if these planes mean another company (Go Jet) might disappear, or other companies loose aircraft, and pilots loose jobs. Their are already companies out there that promised what you don’t yet have. So either hold out until you go to UA or hold out for top pay and QOL or move sideways to another regional.
To stoop so low and to undercut other pilot groups is what the industry CEO’s want. As an Union airline it is your duty not to allow anything less.
I hope you endure a future of hate and shunning from EVERY pilot group, and a lifetime of guilt, if you don’t hold out and vote in an ugly contract just because “new planes”.
The regional airlines pilots have endured the whipsaws and low standards long enough. You are in the best position to keep this historic increase in Pay, Benefits and QOL momentum going.
Talk about new airplanes should be last on the list!!!

We are the pilot group, both on the CRJ and ERJ side that has been decimated for years because we held the line in contract talks while places like GoJet, Mesa, and others undercut us.
I won't shed a tear if GoJet goes under. Not. One. And all those pilots who lose jobs there will probably be offered jobs here, under a contract that actually pays well and has good work rules, and for a management team that, while we complain about them and make fun of them, has treated us well compared to people like HK.

Most of UALs feeder comes from XJT. That’s a pilot group they have to keep happy or the system will collapse. I do think the “shot over the bow” was when Kalitta started poaching LASA pilots. And not just a few. So far about 15% of our pilot group gone just like that and they are coming back for more. UAL could lose the other groups without missing a beat, except perhaps TSA. But TSA and the entire TSH is more messed up than we are.
UAL has promised these airframes to XJT if we uphold our part and approve the forthcoming TA. If UAL reneges their 50 seat feed will probably collapse. As much as they hate the 50 seat it’s what they have and what they have to live with for the foreseeable future under scope.

There’s one aspect of the bid that you aren’t considering- pilots. As someone so aptly put it, the rabbit now has the gun.

So would UAL survive without us? Sure. But XJT imploding right now would be a huge whack on their bottom line, especially as they are trying to expand service. Losing Mesa or GoJet? Wouldn’t be a blip on their screen.

Fight the good fight Xjet, unfortunately management will probably use a Mesa contract as a guide. Too bad it's another Alpa carrier bringing the bar down. Hopefully Xjet takes that same bar and moves it over Republic/Endeavor.

It has been clear from day 1, this would not be a concessionary contract and that anything less would probably result in ERJs (owned by UAL I might add), being parked.

A different subject, but 2 year upgrades scare the bejeebers out of me. Yeah, this is an easy job. Until it isn't. At two years you probably don't know what you don't know. And you're probably flying with an FO who really doesn't know what he doesn't know.
Personally, I'd like to see upgrades stabilize at about four years.
