Possibly, possibly not. There would be criticism for selling ExpressJet to United from SkyWest shareholders. This “promise” helps keep those critics at bay. If and when United actually gets scope relief, the promise may or may not be honored and hopefully by that time, SkyWest shareholders won’t care.

However, I have a friend who has been at ExpressJet for a long time, I would like ExpressJet to be successful for his sake.
I also feel bad for the guys that came to Mesa from ExpressJet over the last few months. They should have stayed and waited and watched what happened. At least most ExpressJet pilots are coming in directly as captains and getting their PIC time quickly.
