This is correct. And certain bases see certain places more often. In EWR we see Canada more often than IAH, and they see Mexico more often than us. Here's an example of a trip I have next month that touches multiple bases:

Day 1: EWR-STL-EWR-YQB
Day 2: YQB-ORD-XNA
Day 3: XNA-IAH-HRL-IAH-LRD
Day 4: LRD-IAH-BNA-EWR

Several vacancies now. At the moment, It’s almost immediate. It’s not known how long that will last, though.

That's great. How long is reserve in iah currently? I saw 8-12 but then also 6 months. Both line and long call?

Also, how often does long call get changed to short call?

Long call BLOWS! Count on your first assignment to be ARC (field standby), and then they can convert up to 2 blocks of reserve to short call. That’s half your month. And they get to pick which call-out you get. It’s much better to pick a call out time and just stick with it, IMHO.

Ok. New to 121. Field standby?

And if I understand the rest. You can be assigned long call (which is a 24hr "period" where they can call and assign 12hrs out), but up to twice a month they can adjust that to be short call. Does this happen prior to the long call starting or once you've started the reserve days? And they can choose which shift of short call for the whole trip?

Appreciate the info. Only have had reserve with a 1hr window call out, and constant holdovers/legs added mid trip even not on reserve so long call is completely new.
