That last part is true. I’m all for adding it into the hourly rate. But to act like it’s worthless isn’t true at all. It’s worth $2500 per quarter if you meet the requirements, which is to work a whopping 210 hours for the quarter.

Which is not possible for someone stuck on reserve to makeup if they have to drop just 2 days a month for reserve or guard weekend drill. It’s hitting the pocket book a lot harder than loosing 2 days of credit. This hoses military guys and am surprised more have not highlighted this issue.

I’d be really curious how many are not getting it and for what reason..

I didn’t realize that. Yeah that’s crap. It really makes no sense to me why the company wouldn’t want to go ahead and roll it into the hourly rate. It can’t cost them that much more and it would be better for all parties. The company wants to recruit so roll that into hourly rates and advertise it.

I’m not trying to defend it, I just think if someone is coming on here looking for “facts” and that is what we are saying we are trying to tell, let’s include this. To leave it out of a conversation that’s supposed to be about shedding light on reality seems to me to discredit the entire message.

I'll take EQO compared to $40 an hour and no EQO.

However, saying "EQO basically makes it like earning $50 an hour" isnt quite true. I think it should go. It's a gimmick. Raise the pay.

Also, if you work 209.9 hours you lose a ton of pay. That doesn't make sense.

It's not granular enough. So just make it hourly.

Exactly. If you average 70 hours per month over 3 months, you get an extra 2000/2500. If you average 90 hours per month over 3 months, you get an extra 2000/2500. Can't really be factored into your hourly pay rate if you credit over 70 hours per month.

The EQO is clearly designed to NOT reward the “work as little as possible” crowd. If this is your main source of income, you’re very likely going to get the bonus every time.

No other regional has this bonus structure. It should have never been signed-off by the union.

United likely structured it this way to use our low hourly pay to whipsaw is against the other companies in their portfolio.

It’s more than just screwing us in hourly pay. It’s used as a tool against the other carriers too.

An interesting comment from the chairman’s email, “As you likely know, we had been advertising on Airline Pilot Central until they recently decided to stop running our ads.” That’s a bunch of nonsense if true. A site for pilots on the side of management. The irony.
