The only other 700s left in the United Express system are the 19 at SkyWest, so if those were turned into 550s then there would be room for another 19 E175LL aircraft.
That’s exactly what is happening.

Thats what I was thinking but wanted to see if I was missing something. I assume United didn't place that order without a plan. I guess we will see what the future holds.

My point is that the 19 options are still options because the SkYWest 700s are not turning into 550s yet.

What is still not clear to me is whether these 20 175s are the same that were announced by United a couple of months ago. United’s announcement back then said they bought the airplanes and would choose one of their feeders to fly them; Mesa’s announcement says they (Mesa) bought the airplanes. So are these the 20+19 United bought new from Embraer a few months ago or is this a whole different deal?

This is what I am trying to figure out. If you read the public communication from both companies it appears that its 2 different orders.

Means maybe we'll actually get back to capacity on the 145 instead of parking them. Were flying like 60 of 95.

These are tri-cabin not dual.

Now an opportunity arose, and Skywest didn't get it.

United didn’t buy these airplanes, Mesa did. It was Mesa’s attempt to save their United flying and it worked.

United did buy these jets. They are owned by united and on a 12 year contract. We own 18 Ejets, these were owned before this, and the contract for these has been extended for an additional 5 years. But these 20 aircraft are owned by United, not Mesa. In other words these ARE the 20 firm orders united announced over the summer, the 19 options have yet to be placed with a carrier, or even ordered for that matter. Skywest currently operates 19 700’s hint hint. And if Skywest agrees to give those 700’s to Gojet to be turned into 550’s I would expect the final 19 orders for the 175 to go to Skywest.

PHOENIX, Dec. 03, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mesa Air Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: MESA) announced today it will add 20 new Embraer E175 LL aircraft to its United Express fleet. The aircraft will be owned and financed by Mesa and be covered under a 12-year capacity purchase agreement. The E175 LL features 70 seats in a three-class configuration. Deliveries are scheduled to begin May 2020 and expected to be completed by the end of 2020.
