Yes and what you are quoting is from a media report, AKA second hand. What I am giving you is directly from management here, aka first hand.

Sorry, but I trust this press release over your “first hand” information.

A press release is written by your PR department, it is not an editorial article written by an outside author. It says exactly what the company wants it to say, nothing more and nothing less.

That is a possibility but then United would not have any Aspen flying.

Plus, the same release is on Mesa’s website under the Investor Relations section. That means it has to be accurate by law, since Mesa is a publicly traded company. It is not hearsay, it’s not a “media story”, it’s not what someone’s friend says. The aircraft will be owned by Mesa, there’s no question about that.

That doesn’t mean that it’s necessarily a different order. United could have just as well transferred their order to Mesa. I am assuming that if that’s the case, United will also have to come out with some sort of press release to their investors.

We can’t staff what we have much less new jets. Smart move on Mesa’s part to buy the planes. My guess is UA transferred their delivery slots to Mesa.

That media report is written by and posted on Mesa’s website so I think they know what is going on.

And won’t be until QoL and pay increase. Who would want to go to the regional with the lowest pay, when pretty much all competitors are paying 10-15 more an hour starting out and have better contracts?! Oh, and where half the FOs are getting paid to sit at home for 6+ months.

The parties are also extending the contract for 42 E175s for an additional five years. The aircraft, which are owned by United, are now contracted through the end of 2024 with rights to extend through 2027.
The press release says “will be” owned. What’s to prevent United to simply act as the middle man and move those 20 firm orders to Mesa for them to pay for? It’s likely the same order. Embraer hasn’t announced a new order separate from the UAL one.

Congrats to Mesa for getting the award.
Seems like we couldn’t of staff them anyways.

Also, was this the big December announcement our company was waiting for?
