Pretty sure that’s if you already have the type rating and are basically just doing a PC. A full new type ride doesn’t allow any repeats.

Those rides are different than type rides. On the non-AQP ATP/Type ride the APD is not allowed to reset the SIM.

Either way... the pass rates are extremely high. Expressjet has a fantastic instructor team. No one will sign you off for a checkride to fail. They will give you extra SIMs if necessary. The examiners are all kind and fair. They do their best to take the pressure off. Non-AQP isn’t any harder than AQP, just different. The expectations are the same.

I can speak for our training department. I’d put those guys up against any legacy carrier training department. They do an excellent job.

Haven’t been to a legacy , but all Expressjet instructors and LCAs I had we’re outstanding. I liked how they set high expectations yet gave me the knowledge to succeed along with creating a friendly environment. Still learning as always but I was more than ready for the line when I was done with IOE.
