It sounds to me like y’all MIGHT have a DEN base coming? UAL is about to get 24 more gates in DEN, and I bet plenty of them are RJ gates.

Didn’t GoJet just announce they are closing their DEN base and opening EWR?

Who’s ready for a cross-continent commute? Virtually every non-UA regional is offering hiring bonuses, East Coast and Midwest domiciles, guaranteed interview, or flow. Fact.

I worked at XJT when y’all HAD a DEN base, and it was VERY popular, and very senior. They will have ZERO problem staffing a DEN base if that’s what happens.
Fact.

Except this is a very different demographic now. If they want to displace people there, I’m in moderate agreement. Give it a shot. But Denver is crazy expensive now and not what it was 20 years ago. Fact.

it hasn’t been 20 years since the DEN based closed. Barely 5 since DEN, MCI and IAD closed. Can’t be anymore expensive then ORD or EWR....

Your management doesn’t give a crap about the pilots currently on the seniority list. They would rather you all resign so they can hire new people. Fact.

And here’s another, far more relevant fact. The creation of a domicile has SQUAT to do with how many pilots WANT to be based there. It has everything to do with satisfying UAL’s needs.

TYS has been doing maintenance long long before it became a crew base.
