IAH 145 pilots
How do you guys feel about everything going on? Please only 145 iah guys on this one.
Also, 175 pilots, are you guys thinking about going over to the 145 in Houston or Denver? Or just going somewhere else completely?

Honestly. It was kinda weird news. Yeah we’re losing the 175s to Skywest. Which sucks to the guys who are flying it which means all of them have to go back to a classroom and learn the 145 either again or it will be a new airplane for a lot of the FOs.
You will have some that think the whole situation is absolute horrid and others who think well at least we’re taking over 36 planes from TSA and opening up a new base in DEN. It’s definitely a grey area. TSA was having trouble. So United has to do what they had to do. It’s all business. I do feel for everyone at TSA. Just know I’m sure most of here at XJT will welcome everyone who decides to come over with open arms. All we can do is continue our day, learn from the situation. And take it one day at a time. We all know this industry is constantly changing, nothing is final until it actually happens

Yesterdays news made a lot of people extremely unhappy. This isn’t growth. These are air frames that were originally ours. The PR department really put a positive spin on this. United just took away 175s and made another 10 year commitment to the worst airplane currently in the sky. Unbelievable!

It's amazing how the guys in ATL try to spin this as some sort of positive news. Here's a crapmeat sandwich, it's fantastic! The 175's were the only thing attracting new hires here. We're going to see our hiring numbers drop to pre-175 numbers if they don't get serious about contract gains. ENDEAVOR + 1 or NO DEAL

Who would want to start flying a 20 year old 50 seater after flying that around for a bit. We call them millennial brats with SJS, but really maybe they’re on to something. This is where ALPA fails us as a labor group. You don’t see electricians or plumbers starting off again at zero longevity just because they switch employers. Their experience or ‘longevity’ follows them.
