Which parts?
The airplane assemblers contract out most everything.

Mitsubishi now owns Bombardier. They would prefer airlines but the MRJ instead of trying to support the CRJ’s. I’ve heard CRJ parts are going up in price but that could be speculation.

I think that the only UAL branded regionals that will survive this are the ones partially owned by united (XJT and Republic. Are there others?), Skywest, And Mesa.

Mesa will survive the next nuclear apocolypse.

i don’t think RPA is partially owned by United.

XJT and C5 are for sure

I think that SkyWest, Republic, and Mesa already fly all of the allowable 70+ seaters. The couple 175’s at XJT are headed to SkyWest. Air Wisconsin doesn’t have a very big fleet of 200’s. SkyWest has a bunch, and the rest of the 50 seat fleet is with Expressjet and CommutAir. If United does cut 50 seat lift to levels described as almost gone, thing of the past, or significant reduction, what exactly are the partially owned companies who exclusively fly an airplane on the chopping block going to operate? Not trying to rub people’s noses in what is going on. Actually curious what people think will happen to those companies

Consolidation! Some of the smaller companies are already so small that cutting them in half again won’t make sense. They will merge or will simply go under and their flying will be absorbed by others.

consolidate them with who?

SKYW is never gonna touch another regional with a ten foot pole.

what would any other regional get from acquiring a company that they couldn’t get from just hiring the pilots?
