United and Continental arent codeshare partners. a half painted airplane isnt fooling anybody especially when you have a ramp completely full of CAL airplanes. Our airplanes are completely painted, some of our airplanes are on the pro-rate deal which means we are footing part of the bill so we should be aloud to have OUR airplanes on partly our routes. Delta's name is on the ticket but so is "operated by Expressjet"... thats my only point.

And I'd venture to say the flying public for the most part HAS NO IDEA that ASA, Comair, Pinnacle, SkyWest, Mesa, CHQ, Shuttle, and whoever else I left out does DelCon flying. I doubt many of them know what regional does what flying for who. All they know is how much they paid, and what time the flight is supposed to be there. Oh, and that the flight can't be delayed for WX because they called their relative who lives there and the WX is just fine.
But the sad part is, I've been at the gate (both at XJET and another company) where a plane pulls up in another paint job that isn't in Delta colors, and the passengers say this; "I thought we were flying Delta, who is ExpressJet/ACA? I didn't buy a ticket on a airline called ExpressJet/ACA. Are we at the right gate? Is that plane going to LAX/LGA/BOS/CVG?" And then it's the standard; "It's so small, I didn't know it was going to be one of those small ones." And then I say; "Rub it, it will get bigger" |

"Excuse me, what gate does this flight leave out of" More often that not, it's on the ticket. Not all the time, but it seems like it is when they ask. "Excuse me, what time does the flight board?" It's ALSO on the ticket, at least CAL's "Excuse me, but do you know what the departure time of this flight is?" Let me see your ticket. Wow, it's RIGHT on the ticket. "Excuse me, how do I know which seat I'm in?" By a bizarre coincidence, it always seems to be on the ticket. "Excuse me, my ticket says I need to go to 13B, I can't find gate 13B. Do you know where it is?" That's because 13B is their seat, not the gate. |

True on all counts. 99.99999999% the flying public is pretty ignorant when it comes to everything you said. The flying public thinks that if they bought a ticket on (insert airline here) that it is being operated by (insert airline here).
