Maybe but from where i'm sitting, it looks as if ASA management took over everything and it is basically ASA with a new name.

Don't get me wrong, ASA was a bad name with an even worse reputation but you have to understand why some ASA people are angry.

Agreed. Unfortunately for us XJT guys ASA are doing everything their own way regardless of whether our way was better. Why can't our management team just cherry pick the best practices of both companies and move forward in creating a happy and harmonious company? This 'our way or the highway' stuff isn't doing much to endear ASA to the guys at XJT.

That's not all, I hear the unions can even make nice.

It gets beat to death man, but ASA did NOT purchase XJT, Inc. purchased XJT.

As far as being "removed and replaced", it's ONLY aesthetic things. You'd be surprised at how much things on the XJT side are changing as far as things like FOM/CFM procedures, as well as our tailored Jepps, etc. So even though it may cause pain and discomfort to lose the name of a regional airline, the XJT side of the house has to inherit the crappy schedulers and the crappy Sked+. It (Sked+) has some cool features, but it's not as good as the previous stuff XJT used. So in reality, who is having things "replaced"?

See what you're saying, but it's a bit of a funny thing. Why in the heck should ANYBODY care if the name changes? The goal of the regional is to get in, get your time, and GTFO ASAP. So when you move on to wherever your career destination is, you won't even care about all the silly drama that occurred.

While I really don't care what we are called, I think its strange that our side (skywest inc so I don't hurt any feelings) bought their side and we are taking they're name. IMO it should have remained ASA, regardless of reputation. Should all be Skywest, but that another story. Just an opinion. You really think our mainline partners are gonna suddenly and magically forget about our reputation because we changed our name to ExpressJet? Our performance is still terrible, maintenance issues out the wazoo, our scheduling sucks, and now we're loosing airplanes. In other words, ASA is still gonna be ASA, even with the name ExpressJet. This whole thing is getting ugly.

I really hope after the merger is complete at the end of the year, management can get they're head back in the game and clean this place up. Not holding my breath. Now we have to worry about getting displaced/furloughed/pushed down to reserve for infinity.

Other than the name, what else is being replaced by ExpressJet? By the way, it was Skywest who bought XJT.

It's like when you give your kid $3,000 to buy a car and he goes around saying "I bought a car"

Who cares? Why does everybody need to keep correcting someone when they say ASA bought XJT? We all know that Skywest owns the whole thing. The fact is, XJT got bought. ExpressJet is now one with ASA, not Skywest, no matter how much you hate it or lie to yourself that you are with Skywest. ASA (oh sorry, ExpressJet for all you sensitive little girls out there) and Skywest are two completely different companies. What does it matter!? Geez... end rant
