Default Recent ExpressJet Interviews

I understand we are still running interviews, I have a friend who is interviewing this week. Just curious what they are telling you guys who have interviewed recently about when to expect a class date? Is it just a big hiring pool for now? They must have plans if they continue interviewing. Thanks.

I just interviewed there- they said that i was in the last few groups of people to interview. We would be placed in a shallow pilot pool and could be expected to be placed in classes come late july, early august. They said that for now they are just waiting on the company to approve those class dates- should happen soon. They said they will not interview more folks until after the summer- they said this is normal as they need to wait for approval for fall class dates and are also waiting to see if they will be getting more flying this fall. They said even if they dont get more flying they will still resume hiring to keep up with normal attrition.

I interviewed this week- that's about what I heard too. No classes likely for June, one or two possibly in July. If I recall correctly, there are about 20 in the pool now. I heard earlier from the manager of pilot hiring that they planned to hire for attrition only at about 17-19 a month for the rest of the year.

That's good to hear, but it's important to remember projected hiring is always written in pencil, especially right now. If the economy takes a dump in the second half of the year as some economists are now beginning to think, the projections for attrition hiring go out the door. Still, expecting to hire in the high teens for the rest of the year is a good thing, not a bad thing.

Hopefully attrition picks up. There wasn't much in April.
