A total of 6 FOs have or will upgrade on the CRJ side for the period of Jan 2014-June 2014. That's it. It would have been 4, but two ultra-senior FOs decided to put in for upgrade all of a sudden on the last position notice (we're talking 13+ yrs of seniority). This would have displaced two CAs already in the left seat so the company actually did something nice and added two positions so these ...guys... wouldn't displace anyone. (I reserve my opinion of those two FOs for a verbal rant should anyone ask me in person)

Seems like your contract wouldn't allow a displacement like that anyway.

I don't work there but that's a screwed up contract if it allows for that.

It does not. A new upgrade can't directly displace someone out of their position. However, there are displacements posted for ATL 200 Captains on an overall neutral position notice. It is possible that senior FOs deciding to upgrade this time to vacant positions elsewhere in the system might create a situation where the most junior Captains get bumped back to FO.

Long commute I've done long ones too it's tough but doable. CRJ seems to be a mix of everything a lot of IAD and ATL200, but seems like you can get anything you want almost out of training even guys trying to get into ATL seem to get it on the next position bid after training if not in training. Supposedly there is going to be a position notice every other month now for upgrades and base changing. I wouldn't worry too much about seat locks in 700 etc seems like they lift the locks a lot

Thanks a lot for the response....

I kind of expect it to be a long commute for me to anywhere I go....

Just trying to see if there is anything that saves me the coast to coast commute or any particular Junior base which is easy commute....

How are DFW or IAH ?? Is either achievable right out of training....

Yes, depending on the month.

Some of the union peeps say the company is ready to deal on a contract that is an improvement, but the Legacy XJT reps are too scared to act and still don't want PBS. Sounds like Déjà Vu all over again. Houston we have a problem.

Nonsense SH, you go back to your cave and stop trying your divisional tactics. 83% say that it doesn't work. I swear there has to be some screening on here so management isn't allowed to post.
