Default ExpressJet Charts

Hey guys.....just got hired at XJet and start class Feb. 5, I have heard some rumors from people that you have to have your own binders for Jepps. Just wondering if this is true and also what else will I need to get started?
Thanks!!

You will need your own binders. Folks do it differentely. I have 3 standard and a one inch for the hubs. You won't need them until your second or third week though.

You will need your own binders. If you cant offord the binders, you can buy some from office depot for about 5 bucks. You will also need a flight kit (brain bag). Ofice depot also sells a cheap one for aobut $30 bucks. That flight kit wont last you but probably six months but if you are on a budget, it will do the job for a while.

Other than that just make sure you have: paper, pens, highlighters, and I suggest a backpack for the schoolhouse.

With our new FOM, you might also want to buy a small one inch binder. It is awfullt hard to fit all that crap in one bag, and the binder that the FOM comes with is a 1.5 in binder.

Honestly I would not worry about it too much until you get to class. Find out what you need, then have the Holiday in take you to office depot on a weekend. That way you are not buying a bunch af stuff that you dont need.

Good Luck.

I crammed everyting- charts, FOM & CFM into 3 2" coyote works binders, and keep a 1" just for hub charts. Works good so far.

get your stuff from coyote works they will come to your indoc class the first week with binders and a good quality flight case. the flight cases have metal plates on the bottom it should last for the duration of your career the best part is it is payroll deduct so you don't have to spend all of your training money on things like that. you won't need it untill you start your FTD's in about 3weeks after you start. the only thing i don't like about the coyote works bags and binders is that i am not making the money they are making on selling the gear. good luck and have fun.

I completely disagree... I bought 3 2" binders and a flight bag from them, I agree with the guy who says the bags will last your whole career. Those metal plates and the overall design are excellent and you'll never have to buy another bag again. There are other bags which you have to fork out a couple hundred bucks for but in 10 years it'll be falling apart and covered with duct tape.

I manage to fit the 3 Jepps binders, the enroute chart package, CFM, FOM, Jepp holding bracket and a bunch of other stuff in my CoyoteWorks bag.

Explain. That's the first negative comment I've heard about them.

Coyote Works has some good stuff. And the lifetime warranty sold me on them. I'll never buy any garbage from Scott Leather or Jepp ever again!
