207 50 seaters by end of 2017.

"Executives have previously outlined plans for a 50-seat regional jet fleet of as few as 100 aircraft by 2019." But this entire article is about UA reviewing plans.

Now that Scott Kirby works his magic at UA I would expect an AA style operating model. i.e. lots of small RJs...

No one can predict 6 months from now.. business plans change daily.. but yes. RJ fleet will decline over the next few years.

Damn, just when I thought XJT would be a good fit.......(I live in IAH). Do reserve FOs get to fly quite a bit?

Skywest would probably be a better option. Republic is a good place and they might open a IAH base at some point. Mesa has a IAH base but they're awful. I don't recommend coming to Xjet just because the future is so bleak and it will be a long time (probably 9 to 12 months) before you can even hold IAH.

I've generally been used a lot on reserve, but not as much lately due to it being the slow season. Had a couple months of 100+ credit in the summer and fall. Held a relief line for December. Hoping to finally hold a relief line again next month.

You mean out of EWR or CLE? The new hires do not get IAH. Those that do have IAH will get flushed out due to DFW closing.

Assuming EWR even stays open. Latest buzz going around is that one of our big 3 ERJ bases will close by the end of the year. It will be somewhat ironic if CLE hangs on, and is the last base to close when SkyWest, Inc. finally pulls the plug on us.

My prediction is EWR, ORD, CLE, and then IAH in that order for the closing of the ERJ bases.

How are the hiring 500 this year if you are scheduled to lose 50 airframes?

That was the 2016 plan. XJT is a little behind.
