Default Pilot credentials

This was confusing. Straight from the attachments section in pilot credentials:

Attach your resume and any other appropriate documents to your profile here. Please do not attach letters of recommendation. Recommendations should be entered online at https://fedex.pilotcredentials.com/. Please include your name in the name of each file and make sure the files are clean and legible.

Second sentence says not to attach LOR's......but attach them.....at this same website (3rd sentence)? I think you entered FedEx employee information in the old recommendation system and then they would enter their data for you.
What about non FedEx recommendations? Do we scan to PDF and upload in the attachments section?

Interesting.

There is a difference between Letters of Recommendations and the new Personal Recommendation, both of which are entered on the PC website.

Any idea if letters of rec are still accepted? If so, how does one do it?
I'm running into this now. It appears that the only recommendation I can submit through PilotCredentials is a full-up PE...how are guys dealing with this when giving all other recommendations?

I see the work around is for me to provide an electronic recommendation letter for the applicant to upload through their personal profile. Is that the best work around?

When I log back into my own personal profile, I see this passage under the Attachments tab "Attach your resume and any other appropriate documents to your profile here. Please do not attach letters of recommendation. Personal Endorsements should be entered online at https://fedex.pilotcredentials.com/index.php?a=endorsement."

I thought this new PE process was supposed to somehow give more power to the pilot corps to recommend good candidates to HR. In execution, it looks like we're limited to only putting in one actual recommendation every decade with no ability to recommend a candidate outside of that official method.

I'm not a smart man. Am I missing something?

I had three internal letters of rec uploaded by FedEx pilots to my PilotCredentials account prior to the PE system going into effect. Once it did, the letters of rec immediately disappeared. As I understand it, the old system of writing internal LORs doesn't exist anymore. Other than someone giving me a PE, the only thing I can do is still list FedEx pilots as references.

So.... with all of the above taken into account....

Are people entering their Non-FEDEX PE letters of recommendation as attachments? Or no?

I haven't yet but I have been considering it. A friend with similar stats got hired a while ago and he said he didn't use any outside recs but since they aren't calling I am wondering if it might be worth the effort. I wonder if they would use them to screen for the interview or only look at them after the computer selects you. Might help with the pass board.

It does say in the instructions not to attachment any letters recommendation. I have been wondering the same thing.

I've heard FedEx is all about following instructions (not a bad way of life anyway), and it reads that you should NOT attach LORs. The only thing to attach looks like a resume, and that's all I attached. But when the drop down menu gives an option to identify your attachment as an LOR/Resume ect it raises big question marks.

The "references" section/tab of pilot credentials seems to be what they are looking for with only putting employee ID, name and contact email down, but again no LOR attachment. They also specify to only list FedEx employees. Then there is a separate link to send someone if they are willing to put their 10 year stamp on you. At least that is all I've done with my understanding of the rules.

My guess is that FedEx would call/email your references in place of the LOR, and then separately consider your PE's. I've come to this conclusion only because I can't find a place to input an LOR. But then again, I'm just a guy on the outside looking in with fingers crossed. Is there any more data on what is actually happening with the Apps other than it's a giant mystery until the machine spits out your resume to be reviewed by a person?

finally, from the "FedEx Hiring" thread (July 24)...

Personal Endorsement Program: Last month our Fleet Captains pushed the first list of PE’s to the Pass Board. After successful completion of the Pass Board, we are seeing our first group of interview invites from our PE group. Thanks for taking part in this program!

So back to the OP's question... has the PE made any significant difference in people getting invited to an interview? Is it truly a "Silver Bullet" to help push someone to the top of the list?

I have had a PE since March and no call yet. All the typical competitive qualifications--current/qualified part 121 747 guy with mil background. Anyone else in that boat?
