Can't answer the second question.
Apologies if this has already been asked but is ANC right out of training common or is it easy to avoid? Is the MD-11 based there? Finally, is seniority in class based on age or SSN? Thanks.

ANC is more senior than MEM. So uncommon but not impossible. ANC is only an MD11 base.

Seniority in class based on last 4 of social.

9999 being most senior, 0000 being least senior.

Does anyone know if FedEx normally attends OBAP? If so do they do one and one's and resume reviews with people? Does FedEx give points for talking to them at job fairs like this? I'm looking at going to OBAP specifically to talk to FedEx.

I went to OBAP two years ago and they were there. And I talked with the recruiting team while everyone was standing in the long lines to talk with DL,UAL,AA...etc. Since my TPIC was only at a few hundred hours at the time they gave me a bunch of great advice to make sure I was more competitive when I hit that magical 1,000-1500hr mark. I did exactly what they said. And with a little luck I got the call to interview when I hit the flight time mark. So long story short I think it was worth going.

However, I commuted for 13 years and with just a tad of seniority that wasnt a bad life. There are also advantages to keeping work life and home life in separate orbits. My advice for new hires is dont do anything for a year, THEN make your call. You do not have to live in Memphis to make Fedex a great job.
Thanks Albief15. First post for me. Glad to hear commuting isn't that bad for FedEx. I've always been interested and will be looking into Purple in the next few years. I'd be commuting from the PHL area. Any insight into the ease or pain of a PHL commute? Thanks for your help.

Commuting will always be a little painful. PHL, ABE, EWR, and MDT will make your commute easier than most.

Fdxlag2,

Sounds good. Does FedEx make runs into MDT so I could commute via company? Or are all those fields the airline option to MEM? Thanks for the help.

Yes we fly into all of those locations from MEM and IND. EWR is a short train ride away and has plenty of jumpseats almost every day an night. MDT is probably a safe bet for commuting into MEM.

What are the IND 767 trips like? Mostly international or domestic? Trip lengths? Thanks.
