Default Offline Jumpseat Question

Hey everyone, I rode FedEx home for the first time this week and wanted to say thanks for a great jumpseat experience.

I did have a question about us offline guys booking the jumpseat. I used to hear that once within 24 hours, an offline jumpseat was "guaranteed" on FedEx. However, I've heard from a few folks that policy has since changed, and that offline guys can now be bumped. I asked the crew I rode with but they weren't sure of the current policy. Can someone explain here? I just want to make sure I understand for the next time I take FedEx.

You heard correct. Fedex crewmembers can bump an offline jumpseater up to 2 hours prior to takeoff.

Yeah, it used to be guaranteed but now you can be bumped. It sucks, but at least it's not an at the gate bump.

Correct me if I am wrong but most of the a/c have more than one JS right? How many jumpseaters are possible on an average 75/76 from say MDT-MEM?

Yes, generally 4 J/S on those aircraft.
