FDX MEM arrivals

Mark's point is that FDX manglement has a long history of chronic NIH syndrome. Have you seen anything recently that indicates a change? If not, his point is valid regardless of his time on LTD.

This is sort of a Management solution to your problem (we haven't been flooded yet!)

I actually got to fly one unmolested the other night. Fairly early in the arrival, 390 on the BRBBQ. Actually had to ask for lower and only got one intermediate altitude but got the descend via prior to reaching it. They can work when there aren't so many of us hitting the choke points at one time.

True, but cannot expect that from MEM center or approach. But, GOC could pay an extra body every night and monitor the gateway ETA and issue speeds or RTAs as needed. And agree, would save bunch of bucks.

Spoke with a neighbor a few weeks ago that works MEM TRACON. I too mentioned the problem when they start changing speeds on these arrivals. He was surprised that going slower made it harder for us to get down. In fact, he thought it would've made it easier.
Remember, most of them haven't ridden in a cockpit since 9/11. That also means the controllers hired since then have never been in a cockpit.
Then we have the guys that come off the end of the arrival and arbitrarily slow while being vectored prior to being cleared for the approach. Or they take the visual and then stretch the downwind to 8 or 10 miles. Goodman Rd. is about five miles and I bet you never see anyone fly base leg that "tight." We manage to take bomber patterns to a whole new level around here.
As far as submitting a FSR, an ASAP would be better, as the FAA and ALPA will see it.

I'm sure I'm not the first but hopefully enough get submitted to make it an actionable issue.
ASAP next, I usually wait a week and see if there is insite action first.

Nope. Many of us have. In fact, here is the company that runs Atlanta.
