YGTBSM

I don't know whether to laugh or shake my head. Fedex must have put the same person in charge to hire our IT team as they did to purchase the 767 sims. Muti-billion company with computers run on vacuum tubes. You couldn't make this up if you had to. Embarrassing

In the interest of consolidation, I'll repeat this here since I put it in another thread before this one dedicated to the subject.

The latest "using computers is hard" message from IT.

Now we have what essentially equates to a resource available display on open time. YGBSM!!! Maybe use some of those corporate tax savings and UPGRADE THE RESOURCES instead of putting in a usage meter that tells us how bad they suck.

IT's spelling capability is about on par with their main job, it would seem.

"This request requires signifigant processing to accomplish."

Checking a list of open trips for a seat is draining our processing power? So are we going to see signs up around AOC with "Every tron counts"?

Who would be best to ask about this? A fleet manager?

Not that I’m going to knock their door down, but every time I see a manager they ask for feedback...

We just need a few words to change and some dancing pilots and IT guys, but I think we got a good template here...

Default POOB

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are proud to introduce our latest conservation initiative, POOB. Not to be confused with POOD, but an entirely new program designed to conserve our most precious resource, micro-bits. "Power of One Bit"

Our crack IT team, you may remember them from hit 80's movie "War Games", as always working away on their Commodore 64's, is overwhelmed by the line pilot's wasteful use of bits.

We are going to have cards available at every station, for flight crew to pass out to other employees who are observed saving micro-bits. Like baseball cards, only with pictures of computer geeks, these cards will be an incentive to all who are cyber-conscience.

We are starting this program off with a slogan, but would like further feedback via a contest to hammer the program home. The winner will get one trip trade, R day move, or drop request, processed any time of day, regardless of resource usage. These inputs will, of course, will be subject to reserve availability. The winner will not be immune to INSUFFICIENT RESERVES.

Our slogan is "GIVE A SH!T, SAVE A BIT"

Now call your fleet manager and give him or her your slogan, or just post it below!

I’m surprised the latest FCIF about helping out with the storm recovery didn’t mention only checking OT for today so we don’t overwhelm the system. Ya know..... trons and such.

I am holding off on my deviation check in until 8 hours prior. If they want to jack me around put it in VIPS now.
