WOW talking strike when we could not even get enough people to simply vote no on a 50/50 contract with no retirement enhancement. Also, this was during a time of good economy, undermanning and explosive growth and no downside except waiting on pay raises and retro payment o i mean signing bonus.YGTBSM.
One of 1559 BTW

Which contract was 60/40 our way? Just curious.

They won’t...but if we, as a group, are willing to strike, we might also be able to not w.h.o.r.e. out and fly extra/draft as others fly only their line. If we’d done this before CBA 2015, it’d be a different game now.

Just my opinion. I’m sure 57% will disagree.

Have witnessed this behavior on both of last two contracts. It cost us dearly. But just as costly was the negotiating ineptitude of the last MEC and NC.

For me, if this NC ends up in a deal freezing my A-plan, it's a NO vote, and am willing to strike, and start a movement to vote ALPA off the property!

All cargo union makes sense and is doable.

Voting ALPA off of the property worked out GREAT the last time we did it? We ended up taking a strike vote and before we could count it OUR FPA leadership made the infamous "PARKING LOT DEAL?"

Yeah ... we should definitely do that again!*? Go Cargo unions?

At least FPA took a strike vote. More than ALPA can say.

You guys keep talking about ALPA, FPA and "A Cargo Union" as if they are some kind of outside entity. The pilots at FDX are the union, period! Putting a different name on the letterhead is not going to change that fact.

We can either decide to act like a cohesive, functional and effective labor organization by having a membership that is fully engaged...Or, continue to fail in negotiations with an aloof membership that elects representatives with only 30%+/- voting. Ask the people you fly with who they voted for.

Half the people I fly with don't even know who their block rep is. Or, even what council they're in.

You think that's going to change by changing the name of the union? Of course not. Nothing is going to change until every pilot realizes that just paying their 1.95% is not all that's required.

We are LABOR! Get over it! Engage!

Default Admit we are not negotiators

IMHO we can't build a new house until we fix the foundation. With that in mind;
1. Professional Negotiators, the "bringing a knife to a gun fight" analogy can not be used enough here.
2. Vote in a MEC who will protect this crew force from themselves, Anita and a few others from the 2015 fiasco were the only voices of reason. The company negotiators are still hungover from their 2015 victory celebration over us.
3. Do NOT entertain any offers that do not address the crew force with equal compensation, it doesn't have to be the same but it does have to be equal $. A couple of examples; past payments to senior members for retirement healthcare and bonus $ for members who notify the company of their retirement date a year in advance ( I think that applied to pilots age 53 or older at the time of signing?)

1. "A" plan protected from any sort of corporate bankruptcy.

2. Protection while deviating! If we are on a company-funded ticket, we should have the same protection if we cannot get there as when on a ticket out of Memphis.

3. DON'T let them change the vacation system.

4. New Porsche company car every 3 years....

As to striking if the company puts us in that corner?

HELL YES!
