Like a BioTech? Is that a bad beating? Sounds bad. I wonder if they use some new virus during the beating....

Since when do you condone using management to be a Capt... ??

real captains don't need to use a pilots supervisor to coerce fellow crew members into the behavior they desire...

Is the Go-Pro proper? No. So use Capt's authority to address it and leave management out of it... because now the FO will use management against the Capt in the future..

is this how you guys really do things at FDX?

Well neither you nor I know whole story but the fact FO pulled it out and started setting up without asking permission b4 hand is a pretty noticeable flaw, especially if they’ve made it to the cockpit of a major.

Who knows what the FO did post being told to put that crap up and only the Capt can make that judgement call but especially not some dude speculating online. As far as “how we do things at FX” go back to your side of internet.

I’ve been here awhile and had maybe 2 Capts I avoided. Now I don’t have to do that. Get to fly with my fav Capt every damn trip. I’ll take this crew force over any on the planet.

I would say your advice could lead to a bad outcome considering the crew. I would have first been inclined to go to ALPA pro stans but if the Captain received push back and attitude from the F/O he might have made the right call. Strange new world now where someone can call checklist bullying and companies by it.

This thread needs to die. What an embarrassment to this great pilot group. The 3% that can't play in the sandbox together do not make up the character that we represent. We need to start banding together for 2021. I have not once seen anything here or even come close to anything discussed.

Nevertheless, I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess the intent of the comment was to suggest there might be another option available to the captain, another step maybe before calling management and having the First Officer removed from the flight. For example, maybe he could tell the First Officer to put the toys away, and then use a good portion of the cruise to mentor the misguided soul.

and you used to be an ALPA rep....

Agreed, it’s toxic and seems to bubble up every three months or so.
This really is no reflection of my experience on the line, but people have different personalities on the internet. That’s on great aspect of jet flyers.
