For now... Ever read Mark Twain's "Life on the Mississippi" ? Replace River boat Capt with widebody Capt and barges with drones, and it is oddley relevant to today.

Yes, but was only pointing out the scope and not diminishing future technology threat. Simply believe proper awareness is key to long term threat capability on the defense and advantages of manned aviation.
The focus is very narrow in this study regarding current technology of small sUAS. How to operate small drones into airport controlled airspace only with manned aircraft. This is a dramatically different blueprint protocol than what would be required to operate large drones in the NAS with uncertain and unproven future UAS technology.
Current Part 107 regs require sUAS to notify an airport authority each time they will operate a commercial sUAS in the airspace we operate in around airport area. FAA simply responding to large sUAS business that simplifies a standardized process for real estate agents, commercial operations for building, crop and security inspections etc. around the airport. Will take a very different study for anything that will replace us and well after the FAA and ICAO approve those technologies. Again, not diminishing threats, simply offering perspective of the future threat.
Cheers

“...all pilots are tireless talkers, when gathered together, and as they talk only about the river they are always understood and are always interesting. Your true pilot cares nothing about anything on earth but the river, and his pride in his occupation surpasses the pride of kings.”
